Default Paugus Bay Marine Patrol

Happy Fourth Everyone, headed out at noon today and just as we approached the Weirs channel from Paugus, we noticed one marine patrol boat followed by a second and third responding to an emergency in Paugus Bay. Third marine patrol boat had difficulty getting through channel by bridge due to boats not having any where to go. The troublesome issue was thinking about what they may have been responding to and hoping no one was seriously hurt. We decided to head in at 5 to avoid the channel mayhem on the 4th. Hope you all have a safe evening enjoying the fireworks with family and friends

I saw some kind if rescue vehicle, with lights and siren going, pulling an inflatable boat and blasting down Union Ave at the same time. I hope it was a happy ending for all.

Facebook is saying a little girl had a seizure at the Margate sandbar and is doing well at this point.

Very glad the little girl was OK in the end, as that's what matters most!

Seeing two MP boats and Laconia Rescue flying down the channel yesterday was wild. I was with my son-in-law sitting off one of the docks at Thurston's, and they were haulin' as they went by. Boats in that area of the channel got knocked around quite a bit.

There's video of the Laconia Rescue boat and a fantastic photo of one of the MP boats on the Channel Cottages Facebook page. Fair warning - the video includes a bit of language (an exclamation) that might be offensive to some.
