Default paddler calls in M-boro Fire

50 Rocky Winds Rd in Moultonborough apparently caught a very lucky break this Monday morning when a woman paddling a stand up paddle board noticed smoke or flames or something burning in the roof and phoned the fire dept. The story makes it seem like a big fancy-dancy, unoccupied, mega expensive home was saved from a big fire destruction by her notice of a very small fire in the roof with leaves and roof debris caused by the electric ice/snow melt cable.

She must have had her cell phone along for the paddle on a paddle board within a plastic zip lock bag or something to keep it dry ...... so, how about that!

... story in today's Union Leader ... is a little interesting to read the new Gilford fire boat was there and went all the way to M-boro ..... Have Boat - Will Travel !!!

Good to know there are observant people still in the world.

As for the Gilford fire boat, that is not surprising, I am sure they are looking for opportunities to use it. Additionally the Moultonborough Fire boat, is all the way up in Lee's Mills, so I am sure they have agreements from other towns, for help in certain area's of the lake, as travel time would be long....

I saw the Gilford fire boat go out yesterday morning. They must have been called off because they weren’t out long enough to get to M-boro.

You may be shocked to know there are water proof cases available for cell phones that aren't already water resistant\proof.
