Default Rack Storage

I know it may vary between marinas but how large a boat can you have to take advantage of rack storage?

I have seen 31' boats at Paugus Bay Marina. They reconfigure the racks to allow for the bigger boats and charge accordingly. A 28' boat with a 9' beam and no arch seem to fit in most of their racks.

Thank you all. Looking to purchase a bigger boat and have no experience with rack storage. Any other advice regarding rack storage would be helpful. Hours of operation, good points, limitations?

As is often the case here, we don't know where you operate from. Paugus Bay Marina may be great, but not if you're from Wolfeboro. As noted on many threads, dealers tend to to serve their own customers first, so you may get a better negotiated storage deal where you buy the boat. Doing a spreadsheet to answer your questions won't help if that dealer says, "Gee I wish you'd bought the boat from me. Then I could have helped you." Often, not always, the boat purchase and storage are closely linked, and you may want to negotiate a package.
