Safe Boating?
We were planning to come up this weekend for a final boat day on the lake. I've been reading lots about very low lake levels, issues with exposed (or unexposed) rocks, etc. The weather looks great, but I don't want to go for a "pleasure cruise" if it's not safe. Any thoughts from those of you who have been on the lake this week? We would be launching from Fay's Marina. Thanks

Come On Up
We came out to East Bear Island from Fay's Boat Yard at noon today. No problems at all - just navigate the way you usually do. Avoid routes that are unfamiliar. Beautiful day on a beautiful lake. 🐻

We came over to Welch from Fay's at about 3PM today with no problem. On the way out of Smith Cove there is a bit more H2O depth on the red side of the markers maybe 6' vs 3.5' on the black side. After that you are golden following advice from the Bear and Dan

Spent a beautiful day on the lake today with family. Like others have said, no problem going anywhere you want to using common sense and paying attention to markers. BTW I didn't encounter any that have been removed according to my Garmin. This weather is a gift...enjoy it!

Beautiful Day!
I went from one end; Alton Bay to the other; Center Harbor, no problems. The lake was almost deserted! Tomorrow is supposed to be just as nice!

On Monday I handed over my boat to the marina for its winter nap.
Wednesday Wifey and I flew to FL so we could have some nice warm weather boating. Yeah, that's right, Florida. |

Nope...went from Meredith to the Broads then a picnic on Ragged I. Then back toward Meredith via Governer's Island bridge. Beauty of a day today!

Safe Boating
Took the boat from the Weirs to Fay's for a winter rest. No problem with the journey. Did see the new spar at Eagle Island. Summer was great on the lake.

It is beautiful this time of year. I did see some rocks "turtle heading" in some of my favorite bass spots. Sight seeing close to shore could be an Issue.

We were in an area that was normally 67 feet deep today, but now it's only 65 feet deep. Way too close for comfort.
