Default November outdoor tennis

Meredith has six outdoor, newer, green colored rubberized asphalt hard surface courts; the nets are still up and the courts are definately available to anybody to use for free. Sunshine makes a big difference as opposed to a cloudy day, and on a November day with little wind and good sunshine, the six Meredith courts warm up pretty good.

Ashland has two outdoor green colored, older, rubberized asphalt hard surface courts; the nets are still up and the courts are definately available to anybody to use for free.

Center Harbor has already removed the nets, locked the gates, and closed their two courts for the winter. With the two courts closed, this could be a good time to consider www.sportmaster.net.... designer tennis courts in a choice of 14 different inner and outer colors! Hello Center Harbor......just take a look what you can create here! Have you seen the designer, $1,250,000 dollar football field & running track at the high school in Meredith?......it's definately time for a tennis court upgrade in Center Harbor!

Tennis is apparently not too popular a local sport as the local outdoor courts in Meredith and Ashland are usually pretty much empty, more or less, all summer long, and especially now in November. Center Harbor seems to get the most tennis activity....probably has something to do with nearby Squam Lake?

In case you were wondering, Wal-Mart sells some very nice titanium tennis racquets made by Wilson for about $15 and a can of three tennis balls goes for 1.50. If you are looking for a non-team sport that one can play until you are 93, then tennis is the game for you, plus it is very inexpensive since the local courts are all free to use. Besides the racquet and the balls, all you need are sneakers, which you probably already own. In July and August, the Town of Meredith usually offers a series of eight one-hour tennis lessons geared toward either child or adult beginners for about $65-total/eight lessons, and the teacher, Erika, is a very darned good tennis teacher!

If you are thinking about tennis then here's an interesting item called a 'Fill & Drill Tennis Trainer' which costs about $10.00 and is available from either walmart.com or amazon.com. Just google "walmart.com tennis trainer." Basically, it is a tennis ball attached to a 20' long rubber band that you hit & hit & hit & hit....and it definately increases your arm strength and coordination for tennis......plus it is used by one person, individually, on a flat surface like a driveway or empty parking lot or tennis court or boat launch ramp (if you want a waterfront view), and it works pretty good as a tennis trainer....plus it is fun to do....and obviously you hit the yellow tennis ball with your tennis racquet!
.......

I am looking for people to hit some outdoor November tennis; Meredith or Ashland, and I am a 59-year old athletic type and about an intermediate to advanced (?) tennis player looking for either singles or doubles games but prefer singles. Anyone like that out there.....male....female..... ages from 18 to 70 ................whomever? ...

Default December outdoor tennis

Do people in the Meredith area actually play any outdoor tennis in December? Yes, there are a few who do!

A great big THANKYOU to the Meredith Recreation Dept for not removing the tennis nets from two of their six, green color rubberized asphalt newer tennis courts. Leaving two of the nets up and available at no charge to anyone is very much appreciated. The courts are ready-to-use.....just wait for a sunny, windless December day, and get out there! With absolutely no snow, and no ice what-so-ever on the courts, and just a tiny, tiny snow dusting out on the grass, the courts are very usable.

Ditto this for Ashland which also has two courts with nets up, and unlocked and available. There was four guys playing doubles in Ashland on Saturday so who says that no one plays any tennis in Ashland! ..

It's time to THINK December sunshine and December tennis, the sport one can play from age 3 to age 93! ..
