Default Mi-Box (Maybe My-box)

I saw a boat today I have never seen before. I was pretty far away but on the side were graphics that said either "Mi-Box" or "My-Box"....anyone know this boat? I'm just curious as to what kind of boat it was....looked very cool to me.

Kind of a stretch to make your boat tax deductible!

Default Not Really a Stretch

Actually it is not a stretch. There is a portion of the cost that is tax deductible for advertising, similar to advertising on a NASCAR or these companies like Red Bull that have cars running around advertising.

Default Audit!

My accountant always advised me that if I played any games with the airplane or the boat, it would be a certain red flag at the IRS, and an audit would follow............No one wants that!!

I completely and respectfully disagree. I am a CPA, have been for 35 years and advertising is certainly deductible. Certainly not 100% but a portion is deductible and is NOT a red flag and doesnt not trigger an audit as long as the rules are followed.

Question "Negative" Advertising?

Saw it last Thursday, and wondered why such a huge boat would choose to go tubing--much less advertise--in the protected waters of Winter Harbor.

Too far away to read the name.

Saw it again this afternoon, relieved to see they were bumping a tube in the middle of a bumpy Broads. From up close, the name appears to "Mi Box".

Shortly afterwards, bout 5:30, the wind suddenly increased to 25-30 MPH. Having trouble keeping control in a very strong wind- and wake- "churn", and hoping nobody's tubing back home, what should appear in Winter Harbor, but "Mi Box".

As to a tax deduction, 'better take it now, as new Federal rules could make our income taxes "free" of deductions--including such advertising and property tax deductions.

(Although smarter folks than me are saying, "It's too early to panic").

Has anyone seen a Hey day? It's a new style wake boat I saw at a boat show. Very boxy and chunky look. I thought that was what the op saw till I remembered the name.
