Default Lightning Hits (reported by weather station)

I love this new weather station. One of the reasons I bought it was it would report lighting hits. I think it's a combination of crowd sourced data from other weather stations and it's own measurements.

Default tempest

I have the same one. Attached it to the post on my dock. The winds are not recording accurately though. Otherwise, fun to watch from down in FL.

I have the same weather station its great. Weather came in fast, the clouds were rotating coming over Moultonborough between red hill and Ossipee range. Wouldn't be shocked if it spun up a quick tornado over the lake.

Wind accuracy seems fairly good. It dances a bit more than a real weather vein but the average (over even a few minutes) is good.
I spent a fair amount effort on location and height.
Close to shore, 8ft high (still way under recommended) and not much near it.
We’ll see how well it does when the leaves come in.
Closest thing is a hardwood tree and it might impact the rain accuracy.

Rain is off, but seems consistently proportional.
It may Calibrate itself over time.

Default how far away from wireless connection?

How many feet away can the unit be from a wireless router or extender?

Keep in mind the weather stations uses it's own proprietary wireless communication and you use standard WIFI to it's hub (which needs 120V power). So if you can put the hub further out (but in range of WIFI) you can essentially use the hub as an extender.

The range from the Hub to the Weather Station is 1000 FT clear line of sight. The range from the Hub to your Wifi router is standard WIFI limits that you are probably familiar with at your sight.

See details here.
