I love this web page RG. Glad you posted it for us all to enjoy. I am sure this is where I learned to the college student's name for Lakeshore Drive. It is a real shame they tore down the Garnet Inn. I wonder why?
The fountain has (or had) an inscription that I have seen on other postcards that reads, "For Dumb Animals" !!

Smile Thanks for the Center Harbor Memories!!

As a child, I spent summers in Center Harbor with my family. We used to stay at these cabins called Coach Lantern or something like that. They were owned by the Power Family and I think they were on or around Lake Shore Srive. I understand their son, Niles Power is now running the cabins under a new name and my husband and I are dying to go back. Unfortunately, we've had no luck getting ahold of them. If you have any information I would love it!

It still has it, plus some more words that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Default respoding to JUDY60

I too used to spend summers as a kid with my folks at the same cottages owned by the Powers family (Old lantern sounds right/near Kranewood). The time frame I am talking about it the very late 1970's and the 1980's. My wife and I drove to the old spot last year and I am sad to report that the cottages aren't here, and the once proud beach is now overgrown grass and weeds. We used to go every year with several other families. Such fun and great memories!
