Default Vacation Report!

Vacation was a success after two weeks of scrambling to get the boat back together. We put over 25hrs on the boat from Saturday to Saturday and saw every port on the lake, found the Belknap, explored Green's Basin, made a few trips through Sally's Gut, out ran thunderstorms from Wolfeboro to Alton Bay, had ice cream from every corner of the lake, boated to lunch and dinner, got my three year old, five year old, and my 7 year old niece out on the tube, anchored in a bunch of different coves for swimming and took a co-worker and his family out on their first trip around the lake!

Only issue was a dead battery that left us stranded for an hour or so out in Moultonborough Bay for about an hour until a friend came out in his Jon boat with a battery and some jumper cables to get us going again. I picked up a new battery and a jump pack to keep in the boat so that won't happen again!

Thanks to everyone on the forum for the encouragement while I was working on the boat and for the tips for things to take the kids to see while we were up. They are still exhausted and already asking when we can go back!

Anthony

I'm glad you had a great time! So, what was the best ice cream?!

Shibley's (I think) was honestly probably my favorite, the stand across the street at the mini golf course.

Great to hear about a great vacation. Many more to come, I'm sure.

Yes, Shibley's is next to the mini golf and sells soft serve. Stillwell's is across the street, a window in the new pavilion building.

Ah, yes—I read it as "across from" the mini-golf not "across AT" the mini-golf. I'll have to give that a shot next time we're in Alton Bay.

Sounds like an awesome week—good on you for getting the boat up and running for the fam. Cheers!
