Default James Bond in New Hampshire.. and Lake Winni?

http://www.theonion.com/articles/jam...w-films,37599/

Sadly a part of me wishes at least some of this was true. Can you picture 007 running down Weirs shooting bad guys with a fight scene ending on The Mount?

I am imagining the final scene where he's shagging some chick in a dingy as it floats away from felix et al into the broads.

The sad part about this ending is the Mount would blow up and sink.

The water slide volcano/turd would have made the perfect lair for a Bond villain. The rest of the landscape on that corner is a perfect set for some deserted place that time forgot.

I read somewhere that there that the "story" was that it would have a Sub pop up at a dock on the lake

So true! Somehow saltwater taffy, fudge and overpriced lobster rolls must play a part in his/her plot to gain world domination.

I can see him at the Weirs telling the clerk how to prepare his popcorn: "Shaken, not stirred."

I searched on the web and found the next James Bond “007” film will be called Spectre. Spectre stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion which is a fictional global terrorist organization. From the articles I read it will be filmed in England, Mexico, Italy, Morocco and Austria. New Hampshire was never mentioned.

It's amazing how many people think The Onion is a real news site:

Default "Weirs The Bomb"?

....the flick could be titled, "Weirs the Bomb?". The plot would be that the villain has hidden a small nuclear device somewhere in The Weirs. Bond only has a few minutes to get from Meredith to The Weirs to disarm it. OH NO.... he is stuck in traffic in Meredith, as the old ladies who direct traffic in front of the Town Docks have it backed up from Hart's to Hannaford!

Bond jumps out of his Aston-Martin and fires up his jetpack and flies to The Weirs, but alas, he is too late! The bomb has gone off and The Weirs is reduced to a barren wasteland of charred buildings and vacant lots....

Oh wait, that has already happened in real life.....

Well they got me. I didn't know about “The Onion”. It just reinforces the fact that you need to watch what you click on and validate your web sources. At least now I am aware of the new James Bond flick. Thanks Don

Very funny!

I would add that seeing the jetpack in action spurs a flurry of activity on Winnipesaukee.com wondering if it's breaking the 150' rule, disturbing nesting loons, or exceeding speed limits. Petitions are put together to mark "jetpack free zones" on the lake.

How about an awesome high speed chase up rte 93 with both 007 and the bad guy racing to see who can reach exit 22 first?

How about ripping a page out of the "Goldfinger" playbook: the camera pans slowly over the image of a beautiful, nearly-naked, dead woman; thing is, this time she's covered in maple syrup, not gold leaf.

Naw, they'd be careening around the exit corner on two wheels, as the camera captures the (new) exit sign: Exit 21, Spectreborough.

So I am driving up to exit 23 to get to my Home away from Home in Meredith and I notice for the first time that there is no Exit 21. It has only taken me oh 25 years to notice this but out of curiosity does anyone know why

And Retired Ole Guy would be watching thinking to himself "hmmm wonder why he didn't take exit 21"
