Default Berry Pond Motel

I heard, today, that the Berry Pond Motel in Moultonborough has been sold.

Can anybody confirm?

That would be great. Maybe the Country Fare Inn will be next.

I have stayed there many times during the OFF season. It is a motel. Clean, decent beds and baths, and morning buffet breakfast was generous. When it's 30 degrees I don't stay at the un-insulated lake house. I do wish they open the restaurant too.

It's a shame they lost that beautiful view they had. Those trees grew in so fast.

That would be good news. The restaurant site will be tough. That old building needs help and insulation.

Is the restaurant owned by the same people and if so did it get sold. It seemed last summer someone was living in the former restaurant

When I heard about the sale, I asked if the former"Maurice's " ( I think it was) restaurant was also sold. The response was, the son, of whomever was buying the motel, would be involved with that?

that would be nice if it does open again. very historic building that I did go to when it was open but restaurant business is really tough when all the tourist are gone. A former restaurant owner told me that without a good bar seen or some special niche it is tough for a restaurant to survive

Maurice's had a bar, downstairs, as you walked in.

I think that is why Buckey's and the Bob House do well as there is a year round bar scene
