Default blind Mighty Mo becomes sighted?

My memory is terrible, as you are about to see. But I'm curious to see if this really happened.

Many years ago there was a guy on the marine radio by the name of Mighty Mo (from the battleship Missouri) that frequently gave mariners important information about possible upcoming bad weather. I believe he was especially concerned with "thundah bumpahs". He really was helpful for alerting boaters to take cover from impending storm fronts.

It seemed as though he had been blind for many years but decided to go to a new doctor. The new doc believed he could regain his sight with a simple operation. Lo and behold the doc was right and Mighty Mo regained the ability to see.

Does anyone else remember this story? Is it true? Whatever happened to Mighty Mo, is he still on the VHF radio?

If you got eye issues, which could be aggravated by the unusually hot and humid summer, suggest you check out Dr Lauren Branchini MD at the Laconia Eye Clinic on Hounsel Ave in Gilford, which is close to Piche Sports.

She is the real deal; a young opthalmologist who graduated from Boston Univ Med and Tufts Med.
