Default Alton Ground Water

Im getting a steady stream of water in my basement which is not a normal occurrence. Im starting to think I may have a water main problem, however I here rushing water at all the storm drains in the area. Im going to give the water dept a call tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone else has noticed this as well. I live off of Bay Hill Rd so Im way above lake level.

thistleb, I just noticed that you are fairly new to posting on the forum and glad you have joined us. Have fun and enjoy the Winni Forum while making many new friends.

I'm sure the AWD will help you out quite quickly. I forgot that, that section of town had town water. Best of luck with your water problem and keep us posted as to how it all turns out.

We live on the other side of the bay from you. We have a stream that goes behind our house that flows down to the lake. The source is high on "Alton Mountain", and is spring fed. Same thing on the east side; The Cascades crosses 28a flowing down to the lake, and it originates from from high above the lake as well, again from springs.

Certainly a call to the Alton Water Dept is suggested, as there is a, ready for this, main main coming from the cistern at the top of Bay Hill near rte 28. They certainly would like to have a heads up on a potential water leak.

We have had a fair amount of rain this past month or so, and with the high snow accumulation, may add up to a high water table for your area.

Good luck.

My brother owns a home on the water about 1 miles south of Ames Farm Inn. He has tons of water in his basement and yard. Happens every year and doesn't dry out until mid summer.
