The process has begun…
Todays MODIS view showing some areas of the lake are starting to turn dark and the usual unfrozen Main Bay of Sebago Lake.

I enjoy the Modis updates, thank you! What is that almost perfectly round feature, to the right of the lake? Is that also a lake?

It's the main part of Sebago that's not frozen.

It's begun, but will still be quite some time. Local ice fishermen are reporting 15-17" of ice still there.

I took a ride up to Gilford last night. There is an open channel down the middle of a good portion of Alton Bay. I don't recall seeing it open down the middle like that before.

Sorry, we were rushing up to deliver a bathtub before dark. All of the wiring is ripped apart inside so we don't have any interior lights. What did I get myself into?
I may take a ride up tomorrow morning, if so I will take a picture. |

I know that.... known him for years. Whenever I post anything without a picture ( new boat horn, Midnight Express at Glendale docks ), I get the same " pics or it didn't happen " comment from him. Just returning the favor!

The channel down the bay is wider than it looks. These were quick shots out the window on the way up this morning. Plus a shot from our yard looking out towards Diamond. |
