Default Bears

The big fellas in the attached photo paid us a visit last week - similar to Hillcountry's recent post, we found our garbage all over the yard and tracked down the culprits. My trail camera has shown them back a few times at various hours of the day and night (not finding garbage, just checking things out), and they seem to be getting somewhat comfortable around the neighborhood (Wolfeboro near the Tuftonboro line). This is our first experience with bears in five years here -- a good reminder to folks to bring in bird feeders and other food sources and secure the trash. Fish and Game has some good guidelines for dealing with bears on their website. Just wanted to let everyone know that we all know bears are around -- but now at least in our house we know that they are really around. It's a good time to be alert.
