Default Merganser fishing expedition

Heard some splashing around this AM, went out to take a look. 35 Red Merganser ducks! Apparently found some fish as many were looking down into the water and then diving under.

Never seen this many together at one time!

Default Might be a record

Used to see mergansers with a dozen or more babies in tow up in Minnesota & Ontario. Occasionally up to 2 dozen. I think merganser moms may adopt another brood if their mother is lost.
Never saw this many. Can you tell if these include maturing ducklings?
...in my great and unmatched wisdom...
