So apparently, on or about August 9 or 10, 2022, a Brinks money transport truck dropped.... http://www.wmur.com/article/woman-re...81022/40864673 ..... a plastic Brinks bag, full of one hundred dollar bills, out front the entrance to the Hannaford's in Gilford NH and then left the scene. A woman shopper at that location, presumably shortly thereafter, returned said bag to customer service, inside the store ...... you understand!
Boy-O-boy .... I have a strong hunch she must be totally regretting her decision at that time, now, after the fact. There's such a thing as being a good citizen, but what the heck. If that was me I would have totally quick stuck the bag into my pocket and got the heck away with it ..... asap .... pdq .... hut-hut-hut ... ![]() Is such a thing as too much honesty ...... honestly! ....... ![]() ![]() Last edited by fatlazyless; 08-12-2022 at 04:33 AM. |

Doing the right thing when no one is looking is a true sign of character. Good for her!
(Also, given that there are probably security cameras all over the place, she would certainly have been caught at some point) |

Did she get a reward? One of those $100's would have been appropriate. Or perhaps a gif-cert. from Hannaford.
In 1962, my six yr. old triplet sister (I'm not a triplet) found a wallet on a beach in Gloucester. The $150 in it was a lot then. She never thought of keeping it, was quite proud she was able to track down the "young" man who lost it. He drove about 100 miles to get it. She handed it to him, he said, "Hey, thanks" and drove away.

You guys have heard of security cameras, right? If I owned a grocery store or I were Mr. Brinks, I would make sure those cameras pointed at the area where the Brinks truck pulls up to the store to film FLL making off with the money bag.

Interesting to read yet another tale of sloppy security by these birds.
Years ago I was heading to court, following an armored car employee, when he dropped his huge ring of keys on the courthouse steps, oblivious to his mistake. I picked them up and paused: "Should I, or shouldn't I?"

I was once making a work deposit at the bank night depository.
I opened it with my key and saw a big ol' bag o' cash that was stuck there. The procedure with using the depository is to put the deposit in, close the door and the reopen it to make sure it is gone. Well somebody didn't do that! I quickly slammed it shut and heard the stuck deposit go away. The speed at which I did this was intentional to avoid any temptation. |

Boston 25 news reported this morning that the person who found the money received a $100,000.00 gift card. I replayed the segment just to make sure I heard it right, and in fact, I did. That reporter (actually desk anchor) will soon be recruited by WMUR…

I'm pretty sure FLL was joking. When was the last time you heard him say something serious?

Todays Aug 12 LaDaSun has a factual story on this, including a photo, and it says the bag had one thousand dollars in single dollar bills. Up top this thread it was thought it had something like one hundred thousand dollars, so that's big difference for testing a person's honesty.
Is much less expensive to be honest at $1000 than at $100,000 ..... ho-ho-ho and hut-hut-hut ..... ![]() ![]() ![]() I mean ..... come on! ....... Hannaford's charges like $8.99/lb for their ready-to-eat chicken wings and onion rings ..... up from $6.99, as of about one year ago! ....... so, gimme a break! ... ![]() |

You can safely assume that no matter where you go you these days you are most likely on someone's camera.
There was a news story on this morning about an airport worker who was also a luggage thief. One person's stolen luggage contained over $15,000 in jewlery. However, two people who lost luggage had put Apple Airtags in their luggage and now the thief is in jail. One WalMart (not local) I know of loses over $1 million per year to theft. Smile, you are on camera. That type of theft costs all of us money. So, when confronted with an "opportunity" if your personal integrity is not enough to get you to do the right thing, maybe you should picture yourself in an orange jumpsuit and that could help you make your decision. |

Most of the thieves were homeless and / or drug addicted human offal. Company policy was for employees to report but not attempt to stop a thief for fear of getting sued. Amazing.
