Default A rare sighting in New Hampshire!

I was lucky enough to come across this herd of flamingos in a small pond near "Winni". According to the New Hampshire Audubon this is the first confirmed sighting in 37 years.

It would appear that FLL found another bargain that he could not resist at Walmart.

Default Thoes are not just flamingos...

They are in fact the famous "Floridian Flamingo"... During our road trip last winter to visit with FLboater, we had the discussion about Flamingos... Everyone in our group though they we indigenous to the region, however after researching on the "net" I found the only the "Floridian Flamingo" was the only ture native species. According to Wikipedia; they are a smaller bird with wirily legs, vivid pink plumage and can hold a hunting stance for hours. It went on to say that they only take fight at night. I've also heard that if they appear on your lawn in the morning... You've just been "Flocked" and you have to pay a fee to have them environmentally removed.

There's a flock of them at the underwater shrine in Jockey cove. Until I saw them down there, I never knew they were amphibious too. You do know where the Shrine is, don't you? Now, that worth seeing, an easy dive....

Default Was "Pinked" by LH&MS

Early one morning last summer I was greeted by a flock of approximately fifteen of these handsome birds grazing on my front lawn, courtesy of the Laconia Historical and Museum Society. When the blue heron swooped in, he didn’t take too kindly to the invasion of his territory and the pink feathers flew. Eventually a truce was reached with the stipulation that they could stay the day but had to be gone by nightfall. They grudgingly complied with the agreement and I haven’t seen them since. All’s well that ends well.

Default Best Ever!

Someone from our church paid a group of teens to flamingo our house, but they got our neighbor. We drove by their house and commented on all the flamingos and chuckled (they're not the flamingo type). A few days later the guilty party called, asking if we were enjoying the flamingos. I loved telling them they missed.
