Default Province Lake Golf Clubhouse Destroyed in Fire

A sad day over in my neck of the woods. A total loss....
100-year-old golf club in Parsonsfield was destroyed by fire overnight. The fire was reported late Wednesday night at Province Lake Golf in the western York County town. Fire departments from both Maine and New Hampshire responded to fight the blaze.

A photo posted on Facebook by the Wakefield, New Hampshire, fire department showed buildings at Province Lake Golf fully engulfed in flames.
There were no reports of injuries, according to New Hampshire television station WMUR.
The golf course was opened in 1918 by Joseph Emery and his friends and business associates. Emery, a native of Dover, New Hampshire, served as president of Lord & Taylor in New York City, according to the golf course website.
No other details were immediately available.

(Province Lake is located in Parsonfield, ME, Effingham and Wakefield, NH)

That's awful. One of my employees got married there last year. It was a charming place.

Apparently they were about to celebrate their 100th anniversary. Possible kitchen fire was the speculation on the cause.

According to the Food andBeverage Director, Sabin Beck-with, the staff at the Restaurant atProvince Lake, where the fire is believed to have started, had left for the night at about 7:10 p.m.“The alarm company called me
at 9:28 p.m.,” said Beckwith in anemail. According to Beckwith, all that is left is the foundation andtwo chimneys. “The combination
of the storm and the fire literallyflattened the building,”
