Default The Ice might not be that thick....

I just drove by the Libby Museum and they were pulling a Jeep Wrangler out of the ice right at the edge of the ramp. Sorry I didn't get a picture.
Now I'm pretty sure that just shut down that ramp for the rest of the year as the ice will never harden thick enough for driving on. I mean if a Light weight Wrangler went through, how would a big F350 do? And how are all those Bob houses gonna get off the ice now?

Carefully? Hope they float? Pulled by an Armada? Remember, if Ted Kennedy was driving a 1967 VW Beetle (remember those ads?) instead of an Oldsmobile Delmont 88, he would've been President! (shudder at the thought...)

The ice is probably still pretty thick in the middle, but near the shoreline I would imagine it is thinning right out. That Jeep probably went through trying to get on or off the ice.

I guess we might be able to say that this Jeep Wrangler "did a GMC Jimmy" by diving into the lake? Not that I want to start that kind of thread again, but I'm just saying that we have a lot of suspicous-acting cars around here lately........

Default It was a Delmont 88

Olds made the Delmont for just two years, 1967 and 1968 I believe. It is sometimes referred to as the "Forgotten Oldsmobile".

The Delta nameplate was in very limited production in 1967 and 1968, mainly as the Delta 88 Custom. The Delta nameplate came back strong in 1969 with the Delta 88 Royal.

R2B nailed it right on, you can see one here:

and this page:

The Delmont was made for only two years, and its claim to fame was as the car Teddy Kennedy drove off the Chappaquiddick Bridge. ...

Today,Saturday the 14th I was heading down the hill towards the docks from up the hill near McDonalds and I had to pause to let an ambulance in front of me .he was headed for town. I got to the bottom and the town docks and he was getting his gear out of the ambulance .1 cop car as well. I saw the Cop point out onto the ice and say something to the Ambulance guy ..
Thats all i know...Film at 11:00 ????

Almost every bob house is gone except for 5-6. ..all bob houses are off the ice in Center Harbor...I may be too late with my April 26th guess!!!

I noticed the mass exodus of the BH's as well. None in Center Harbor, Across from the Libby Museum, almost all gone. Near the 19, almost all are out and some in the parking lot. Hmmmm, and the polar winds are staying to the north for now. Will the currents slip South again? Big warmup in the mid and south west this week. Hopefully it will be enough to drive that Canadian Wind up where it belongs....Ice out April 15th this year! The Harley and the little Maroon Cobra should be out by the end of April this year. Yipppeeee!
