you made my day...
...a great memory to start my day. Loved going there as a kid with my father when he would go to get gas in the car and get a coffee...

Based on Chevy Wagon...
The year of the color postcard (above) is about 1962.
The tall skinny box in the right-foreground is a telephone booth.

Kind of interesting to me
I remember that place well. Those type of stores all had there own personalities. Each one , interesting on its own. Much different than today's mega stores. Nice to see that piece of history, thanks.

Must be the Indian "Weirs" influence
Must be the Indian "Weirs" influence. Happy Landing sold "Indian"souvenirs, as did the Trading Post up the street in the Tarlson Arcade building. I remember Quoddy moccasins, and water skiing with Dick Binette. He barefooted; me, not so much.

Handy Landing radio ads
I remember back in the fifties when WLNH was an AM station, 1350 AM. Every morning we would hear the radio ads for Handy Landing. Always advertising Quoddy Moccasins.

I remember waking up to them in the morning, after they came up to full power. Back when you could get a couple of stations of TV on rabbit ears

Second Floor?
From the looks of the various pics...does it appear that they added a second floor to the existing building with the gas pumps in front?
