Default Steamers

With the seasonal closing of Town Docks in Meredith, I am missing well prepared steamers. Any suggestions within 30 minutes of Meredith?

I am interested too. Thanks for an upward, sensible post, amongst the clutter out there these days

A little further than 30 minutes but Roberts in Kittery is excellent across from the outlets. Probably 45 minute drive

Thank you Joey. Roberts looks fantastic and I will definitely bookmark that for some time in the future. It's actually an hour and one half from Meredith. As is Portsmouth, and my favorite, Barnacle Billy's in Ogunquit is one hour and 50 minutes. I was hoping for something a bit closer today which is such a beautiful fall day.

Anytime. I will try to rack my brain a little more for something closer but might be tough this time of year

Try the Weathervane Seafood Restaurant in Chichester. Great Steamers and Fried Clams!

Good values there.

Went several times this summer. Excellent. Best steamers I've ever had and I've had a lot. This location is closed for the season.

Clams were expensive this past summer. There was some red-tide at the beginning and caused the supply to dwindle. I think Pops ran out at one point.

Default Steamers

Most of the restaurants will have steamers special off season. I think it was Ellacoya B&G that had steamers and beer special last winter or was it Gunstock Inn?

For whole belly clams, I had good luck at Lakeside Family dining across from Wendy's on Rte 11. T-Bones will offer them as a special and I love the crust!

Little bit of a hike, George's Seafood on Tenney Mountain Highway in Plymouth always carry steamers as well as Makris on 106 in Concord. Both are worth the trip!

Now I'm hungry!

Chichester is open year 'round. It is the Weirs Beach location which is a seasonal operation (food is good there also when they are open).

Does anyone remember Brother John's Pub in Wolfeboro. I think it was on Lehner Street. Next to Sanel Auto Arts. They had great steamers!

Went there for the first time this summer with my girlfriend. Neither of us were impressed and neither of us can remember what we had. I think I had stuffed haddock...It was for lunch.

The place has a great looking menu and gets great reviews. Very popular with bikers.

I will try it again. They also have an impressive seafood market attached.
