Castle Car Show
Anyone else go to the Castle in the Clouds car show today? Beautiful day, nice view of the lake, and lots of cool iron!

no photos
Wasn't into the photography today - the pictures just sit on my phone. I did take one shot of this VW Westfalia camper van to send to my son who is into those...

A real success!
We were there all day…my husband entered a car….the place was packed…
hundreds of cars, hundreds of people….gorgeous weather…..as a fundraiser, it must have done extremely well! The BOD at the Castle must be smiling. |

We love car shows and been to some good ones in Florida but I’ve got to say this was one of the best ever……..traffic was backed all the way up the hill

Didn’t go, but I heard long lines of traffic it get to the parking lot. Backed up to and 171. Great that it’s so popular, but hopefully there’s a way to alleviate this next year. I suspect money collection is the biggest bottleneck.

Actually - the money was not collected until one was parked and walking toward the exhibit area... I got stopped in traffic about halfway up the hill. It was just slow getting people off the road and parked up the hill by the stable. Now that I think about it... stopping the cars to let people cross from the parking area after paying was probably a contributing factor...

The backed up traffic issue can easily be resolved by allowing patrons to enter the Castle via the truck entrance (not the traditional winding narrow road entrance).
The truck entrance is the entrance which is used every Saturday night when they do the summertime Saturday evening concerts. That secondary entrance works flawlessly and allows the traffic flow to move easily at all times. |

truck entrance
If you mean the north entrance that was/is used to go to the former bottling plant - that was the one that was in use (at least by me and everyone else stuck in the traffic!)
