Default Need some strong guy recommendations

We need some strong, careful men , probably 2 would do, to move furniture from a pod to our first floor, and we could use them this Friday late afternoon, Saturday, Sunday or Monday, preferably sooner than later. This would probably take them 3 to 4 hours. Our flood damaged property is almost ready for occupancy! We want to avoid Servpro because they damaged some things when they moved them out in December. We are willing to pay generously. If you can recommend anyone, we would appreciate it very much! Thanks in advance.

You can book people on uhaul.com by the hour. I have done it before.

Thanks for the suggestion. Because of our experience with Servpro, we would appreciate recommendations of specific people who have done a good job.

Pro's come with dollies, blankets, lift straps etc. Amateurs tend to lift improperly and drop or bang stuff. If they don't damage the furniture, they chip paint and damage wood trim. Pro's have liability insurance and Worker's comp insurance. Servpro should have fixed whatever they damaged on the way out. Most moving companies will send a crew, but maybe extra for a Sat/Sun. Just sayin...

Many of them are actual contractors/moving companies and you can add insurance. Not just guys in a windowless van. It sounds like you need a professional with insurance because of your damage concern, not just a couple of strong guys which is what you asked for.

If Servpro damaged something they should be insured for it.

Default Problem solved, we hope!

We have Lakes Region Movers arriving at 8 A.M. Monday. Great! We hope our homeless days are winding down. They work in teams of 4, and sound very professional. We’ll let you know in case any of you need good movers in the future.

Default Central Lakes Moving 👍

Our movers just left, and they were awesome! Central Lakes Moving in Belmont. They were prompt, efficient, pleasant, and were well prepared for the rain. Rain on moving day? Seriously? Everything went off without a hitch....no dents, breakage, scrapes. They were out of here by 9:30. We couldn’t be more pleased.
