Default Moon Set

Walked out of the camp early this morning to go fishing and saw this beautiful moon and thought it would make a cool picture. 1/2 hour later the sun was coming up in the opposite sky!

Is that tree dead? Even the super-slow lazy ash trees in my backyard have started to leaf out.

Nice pic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the looks of it, that's a South American Glow Tree that, because of a rare natural secretion in the bark, glows in lightness areas. The luminosity and pattern varies greatly from tree to tree and is one of the variations that makes it such a spectacular specimen.

As I recall ishoot308 left the dock at about 4:45, sunrise was about 5:10 +/-.

I checked the file. This was actually taken at 5:11. Not sure why in God's name I was awake at the hour but I saw that from bed when I opened my bleary eyes and was compelled to get up and take a picture.
