Question

I know there was just a post about snowmobile rentals but I was wondering if there are any ATV rentals anywhere, particularly for small kids. My son is eight and we're going to the Meredith Fishing Derby for the fourth year in a row. Needless to say, after two afternoons of standing on the ice not catching anything, it tends to get a little boring-more for my wife and I than for him.

Just thought it'd be a nice break to take a spin around Meredith Bay for a little while.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Default Tooling around the bay on a ATV

I'm not postive about what I'm about to print, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I don't believe your son is old enough to be tooling off of his own private propety unless he is certified and then I believe he has to be 16. Help with this would be appreciated as I really do not want to be the one to spoil a kids fun.
Best of luck to the young man

Default OHRV regulations for youths....

From the FAQ page at Fish & Game's website:

Can a child legally operate an OHRV?
Children between the ages of 14 and 17 can operate an OHRV off their parents', grandparents' or guardians' property if they meet one of the following criteria: they must be accompanied by a licensed adult over the age of 18, possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license or have successfully completed an approved OHRV Safety Education Class. Children under the age of 12 can only operate an OHRV off their parents', grandparents' or guardians' property if a licensed adult over age 18 accompanies them. No children under the age of 18 may carry a passenger on a 3- or 4-wheel ATV

Be careful and have fun!

Almost forgot.....your original question, check this place:

Default Atv Rental

Good job on the atv law governing young riders.

The way things are up here right now maybe a Seadoo would be better.
