Default Best Sunset Spot on Winnipesaukee ??

Since we have turned the corner and days are getting longer, I am looking for input on the best spot to see the Sunset from Lake Winnipesaukee.

This is a picture from last July taken just off of Little Barndoor looking over Parker Island.

If you can include a picture, the location and month taken that would be great.

I catch a lot of sunsets between Lockes and Timber on my rides home. This was mid to late August. Name: 20180825_191716_1535242442499.jpeg

I'm voting for the west side of barndoor island. The sunset varies from straight up the broads through over rattlesnake and eventually to over belknap mountain. We know when the sun sets directly over rattlesnake everyone goes home and when it starts to get past gunstock it's time for us to go home. This was taken in late August

How about a sunrise over Stonedam Island (taken out the kitchen window about a month ago)? Sunrise over the lake in the Winter is one of my favorite things about living here.

I took this one way back in November of 2010. I took shot this from the parking lot of O's Restaurant in Laconia which is overlooking Lake Opechee.

Over the years I've shot hundreds of sunsets from this spot and no two are ever really the same. This one though is my favorite.

Taken with Canon 7D and Canon EF17-40 f/4.0L
AV Mode ISO 100 1/6 sec at 40mm

Default Hmmmmmmm

Hmmmmm, the simple answer: The best place to see a sunset at the lake is where you are at the lake at sunset. It's all good.

Well, I used to say it was from our dock. But I think upthesaukee nailed it with "where you are at the lake at sunset."

Case in point: this one from the bow of the Mount.

Having spent parts of 30 summers on Moultonboro bay on Geneva Point looking west it’s pretty tough to beat that anywhere on the lake.

I will sometimes show people the pics I take while at the lake. After looking at this one, somebody asked" what's that shiny spot on the ground...a heavenly visitor?" I hadn't given it a thought, but it's a former flower garden we stopped planting a few years ago because the deer would come and eat everything...it's also the exact spot we scattered my mom's ashes 8 years ago. If you zoom in on the spot, it's heart shaped. I've always felt her presence there...butterflies that land on my shoulder and won't leave, dragonflies that land on me if I sit. If I see the cats chasing butterflies, I will jokingly yell " don't hurt my mother "! Just thought I'd share...
