Default Grent minds think alike!

We just did the same thing and posted at the exact same time. We're only 300 miles away, though.

The posting clock must be 3 hours late. I noticed you were describing the fireworks in past tense, yet the posting time of your message was 7:48pm. That sounds like West Coast time. Wonder why?

They must have been really good, we heard and saw them from our porch at the Weirs!

I'd say pretty good but perhaps not as extensive as past years ... mebbe. Can't beat Alton for the sound though. Interestingly we noted some flashes in the clouds shortly after the Alton show. Figured it was Gilford or some other town in that area. Was there someone else between Alton and the Weirs that night ?

I forgot my tripod but managed to take some pics anyway. I'll see if I can post some a bit later today.

EDIT : Done ! well a couple anyway ... Now I've got to figure out something novel to do with the rest.

Our neighbor in Alton does a GREAT homemade (but professional) show, they started about 10 pm and went for a while!! Maybe those are the ones you saw...on 11A.

There was a lot of private shows between the Weirs and Alton that looked like a lot of money had been invested in. Must've been what you saw M-N-M. I know Gilfords were on the 4th, and that was a pretty good show too. I like them short, sweet and LOUD!

Arrow Private shows

Could have been them. We did see a lot of high grade displays, stuff you can't buy in any NH store, up and down the bay this year. I've got to find out where they got their stuff !

Thumbs up Alton Fireworks Get My Thumbs Up

Alton's fireworks are pretty terrific. Especially when you come by boat. I would have to agree with Mee-n-Mac that they were not as extensive as previous years, but very enjoyable nonetheless. The echoing of the fireworks among the granite hills and area mountains is just amazing.
