Does anybody have experience making augmented reality for historical sites?
There is a historic site in the Lakes Region that would be nice to see the original structures in their exact locations through one's phone camera.
Here is a large-scale example at Cahokia Mounds near St. Louis, MO. https://cahokiamounds.org/augmented-reality-project/ I just want to do a couple of simple structures. If I understand correctly, there are two components: 1. 3D modeling 2. Geolocation I have tried free apps that will let you import a quacking duck on your kitchen floor. What I want though is to go to the historic site, place the 3D structures, and then create a QR for others to go see them in their original locations too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Edit: I have held back the actual location because I'm just hoping to at least create a rudimentary version of AR to show the historical society and conservation commission. In other words, I don't have any authority at the location. I just want to show people what the possibilities are in a good-natured way. Last edited by MRJS; 11-29-2024 at 08:58 AM. |

Are there geolocation apps that allow for steep changes of elevation, trees, and rocks? |
