Default NHSA online membersips on hold

December 28, 2015

Attention: All NHSA Club Presidents and Membership contacts

Re: Online Membership Sales

This notice is to inform you that the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association (NHSA) will need to delay the availability of online Club Membership sales.

A Member Club has made a formal complaint to the NH Attorney Generals Office against NHSA regarding potential antitrust issues related to the requirement of standard membership fees to participate in the online sales system. As a result, additional time is needed to work cooperatively with the Attorney General's office to address the issue raised before implementation can occur.

At this time it is unclear how long it will take to work through this administrative process with the Attorney General's office but we are hoping we can resolve the issue within the next thirty (30) days.

If you have any questions or concerns relative to this delay, please feel free to contact the NHSA office at 603-273-0220.

Sincerely,
Roger Wright
President

Received from the NHSA on 12/29/15
“This notice is to inform you that the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association (NHSA) will need to delay the availability of online Club Membership sales, but we are hoping we can resolve the issue within the next thirty (30) days.

If you were waiting to try the NHSA Online Membership Website, you will need to use one of the following alternatives to Join and Register.

1. Mail in your 2015-2016 Application that was mailed out or go to our Website for a copy.
We will process them and e-mail you a copy of your NHSA Voucher ASAP. For those who do not have an e-mail address listed with the Club but do have e-mail it would speed the process if you e-mail it to us at winnocturn@roadrunner.com otherwise we will have to mail it out.

2. Go to any one our 3 Membership/Registration Agents where you will find both the Application and a Moultonboro Snowmobile Club Membership Card which can be used in place of a NHSA Voucher. You can join our Club and Register all at once.
Locations:
1. DaSilva Motor Sports (Rt 25/Moultonboro Neck Rd).
2. EM Heath Hardware (RT 25 Center Harbor)
3. Skelley’s Market (RT 109)

We will try to check the Mail Box more frequently during the next several weeks.
You can e-mail George Higgins if you need assistance at winnocturn@roadrunner.com

Regards,
John Harrington
President, MSC

and register like normal correct?

Wolfeboro was to have a "Tablet" located at Dive Winni. It is not the Online Website that is on Hold right now. It is a link to the "Club Portal" which Clubs are using to MAMUALY upload their Membership Data.

You will be able to fill in the Blanks, process the "Application" and get your Voucher Number and or Print it out if there is a link to the Agents printer.

If you have a Membership Card to your Club with the NHSA Club ID Number (000102) that will fulfill the requirements of the "RSA" covering Registering to Register and get your $30.00 Discount.

The Club Membership Card with the NHSA ID Number fulfills the wording in the "RSA".

To qualify for member rates, the applicant must show of proof of membership in a non profit
snowmobile club that is affiliated with the N.H. Snowmobile Association. The membership must be issued to the registrant for the current registration year.

Why is it being made so difficult... What happened to and what was wrong with "join a club then show your club card when registering for discount"... I don't get all the red tape... Just asking.

Also is $66.00 the correct club discounted price to register a sled this year?

Thanks!

Dan

Dan,

It is a "POWER MOVE" by NHSA to take more control of the individual Memberships.

It is contrary to the RSA covering the REGISTRATION Process.

By not issuing the traditional NHSA Membership Cards it left some Clubs with out a way to show proof of membership in an "NHSA AFFILIATED CLUB" (RSA).

I went ahead and had our own Membership Card printed. We simply provide each Application at our local Registration Agents a card with our NHSA Club ID Number on it. It's as good as having the NHSA Voucher.

Yes on the $66.00 and same on every Sled Registered you save $30.00 Each additional Sled. It adds up on multiple Sleds resisted.

I could not disagree more with both points.
NH F&G, who handles OHRV registrations, required that NHSA come up with a membership process that was able to be audited and would hold clubs and NHSA accountable for club memberships. The previous paper membership system was not able to be held to that standard.
It is 2016, time to get away from hand-written registrations.

Default NHSA Voucher is only one form of Member ID

Chip,

You may have it backwards. Fish & Game has the problem as to what will be used as a valid "ID" Numbering System. They are working on what they need to get control of the situation. We will probably see something by the end of this season.

They had said it may be similar to the 12 digit ID number that NHSA has implemented this year. NHSA could have retained the NHSA Membership Card system with the new 12 Digit Id Number instead of the Voucher. It would saved the Club Membership people all lot of time in processing application. We have to manually enter all of the members information it to the NHSA Database as well as maintain our own the Club Database.

NHSA System is some what contrary to how the RSA governing how Registration are processed. What is acceptable is a Club Membership Card displaying the NHSA Club ID Number in a six digit format 000102, Serialized Club ID number and the NHSA Voucher Number in lew of the Prior serialized NHSA Card.

To Register:

* Snowmobiles only: To qualify for member rates, the applicant must send a copy of proof of membership in a non profit
snowmobile club that is affiliated with the N.H. Snowmobile Association.
The membership must be issued to the registrant for the current registration year.

Sample Card we us with our local Registration Agents. It is acceptable at any registration agent.
