Default The Other Store, Tamworth

This places serves dinner, and is the only game in town near Barnstormers, now that there is no Chequers or Tamworth Inn. We ate there tonight, and it was really awful.....so pathetic that we just pretended everything was fine. You had your choice of 2 entrees....we chose a chicken one that was dried out and served with gummy white rice. When something is that terrible, you are grateful not to have invited anyone else along. There was no point in complaining. We think they tried, but a better choice would be to grab a bite at home beforehand. It’s too bad, as that area desperately needs a decent restaurant.

Next time you are in the area try the Mountainview Station in Ossipee. It's a little bit south (maybe 5 miles south of the intersection of 16 and 25) and in the Ossipee village area but the food is quite good and reasonably priced. No liquor but they do have beer and wine. Don't miss out on desert it is home made.

Default New thread?

Always disappointing to hear of folks who are trying, but having difficulty.
Restaurants are a tough business, often with lots of staff turnover. Perhaps Mountainview Station deserves a thread of its own? I was there for lunch with Ossipee friends a coupe of years ago. Very good. I'd go back but the geography doesn't work. A Forum search did not turn up any other references to Mountainview Station.

that's a tough location, no mans land but 6.5 miles away, 11 minutes per google maps is Jakes Seafood in Ossipee NH on route 16 south of the intersection of route 25. Always had good meals there. Hobbs at the intersection of 16 and 25 is very good also. Many like the barbecue restaurant at the intersection of 16 and 25 although I don't eat there.

Mountain View Station never disappoints! Always very satisfied when we go!

Default The other place

Good news! Hobbs on rt. 16 will take reservations, and they are under 10 minutes from Barnstormers, so we’ll give them a try next time.
