GMI did our driweway. We were very pleased. They are experienced and quite professional. They also have a large operation, so they were able to do our large area quite easily and quickly. Their pricing was very competitive with other companies in the area.

I've heard good things about both GMI and Benton. Spelling?

GMI wins hands down. Saleman's name is Wayne Mugget real nice guy. The whole operation goes real smooth.524-0200 I have used them twice.Be careful of the guy who advertises in the LDS with a 20% off coupon. Here is a link to there site. http://www.gmiasphalt.com/

wow when I saw this I was going to comment on to staying away from GMI. I had very bad experience, and it was pretty much Warrens fault, but I guess it must have been a fluke with all the good reviews. I guess it just goes to show how hard it is to satisfy everyone, everyday.

Default Paving

Porter Paving did a great job for us two years ago. They went beyond what the contract was for. There was just a nice article about them in the Weirs Times.

Default Gmi

I vote for GMI. They are under new ownership. Greg is not there any more. So I would double check.

Best bet is Breton Construction 524-2981. They have done several projects for me and have been excellent to work with. Not too happy with the other guys.

Default Thanks Forum!

Based on all your recommendations in this thread, I contracted GMI to do a rather long and steep driveway at my home in Gilford today.

Wayne was very responsive in getting me a quote and describing the technical aspects of how the driveway would be done. Having done asphalt inspection in a prior life (30+ years ago) I can tell you that Wayne knows what he is talking about and I was very comfortable giving him the job.

It's scheduled to be done September 23rd. I'll report back with the outcome.

Dan

Used PORTER PAVING last year, great family business, went over and above what we had agreed on. They are in Tilton and are absolutely worth getting a quote from. Good luck

Kimber, I just noticed that you are fairly new to posting on the forum and glad you have joined us. Have fun and enjoy the Winni Forum while making many new friends.

It kinda looks as if both of us a little late for posting our info. Thanks for joining in with us on the forum.

Had my driveway (175 ft.) and carport paved by Bryant Paving in Meredith this summer.

They did a great job. The wife and I are pleased with the outcome and the dealings with the company.

I used Porter.
Excellent job.
Fair price.

In my case there is a base coat using larger stone then top coat using smaller stone. Most but not all do this.

I'd like to hear from those who have had driveway done - how many years ago - and how all has held up.

In my case driveway had been dirt/gravel for at least 5 years before paving.

Then paving.

Over time a couple of rocks have pushed pavement up an inch or two. One place a dip developed.

The bottom line is make sure you have a good base.

Default Sealing driveway

Looking for a company who seals driveways. I have a 600' steep driveway with dual parking areas at the bottom. Have seen where they have this hand held sprayer. Seems like this might be the best way. Whats the best time in the season to do this(fall has leaves).

Thanks Dave M
