Default Lake to NHIS

Anyone know the best way to get from Wolfeboro/Alton to NHIS? I know HOW to get there, but I'm wondering if there are any shortcuts that avoid the main roads, especially on the way home on Sunday.

Thanks!

I would probably take 140 from Alton to Belmont, then south on 106 to the track.I think I would rather stay on the north side of the track having a lot less traffic than the south side.

My son the Nascar junkie goes basically that way. After crossing Rte 107 in Gilmanton, you will pass the Post Office (on your right) and about a quarter mile or so beyond that is Allen Mill Rd on the left. Turn left there (may be a cop there directing traffic). You may have to bear(turn right) on that road to get to rte 106 at an intersection where Shell Camp Rd comes in from the left. At rte 106, turn left and you will be about a mile and a half to two miles south of rte 140/106 intersection, just north of the pond on the right side of 106 heading to the race track. Son says it saves time, but then again he's a Nascar fan !

Thanks Up. That should avoid a good amount of traffic after the race.
