Default Zacheys Closed

Zacheys in Meredith....finally closed for good. I can't beleive they survived as long as they did.. Terrible service. Slow? Slow doesn't even describe how slow they were, Hope someone can move into this location and provide some decent food and customer service

right on the corner of main street and 25. has potential to be a great pizza/sub place. Close enought to the public docks (next owner should include dock delivery). I gave Zacheys a few tries but it was always the same. Long wait and not the brightest people behind the counter....telling it like it is

My guess is that you will not see a for rent sign at this location if there lease was up, I am hearing that the bank that owns the property wants to raise the building once the lease is up for the hardware store...

Mexican would be great!

I also understand AKADQ, that is an old and ugly building. Not nice classic old, ugly 70's old.

Oh, that place was bad .... went there one time, ordered a pizza, sat down with my family to wait for it. Fifteen minutes went by .... went back up to the counter and asked "Where's my pizza?". "Pizza?" the girl behind the counter said ... "Ohhhh .... we forgot to put it in ... you're better off to go to the place across the street ... "

True story. There was not one other customer in the place .....

Exactly what I was talking about. I'd go there and order and so much time would go by, 30-40 minutes and no one else was there...ridiculous! Its not even an exaggeration. Glad someone else had the same experience....well, not really glad. How did they expect to survive?

Yes please!!! Burrito me in that location would be awesome!!

I've got 65 employees who aren't allowed to drive to your laconia location for lunch so they would be stoked if you opened in Meredith!

Just curious, what kind of employer dictates if employees can drive somewhere for lunch?

OK, but still, if you get a paid lunch break you should be able to do whatever you want with it.

Problem is no visable parking and the windows were so dark, it looked closed all the time.

Good riddance! I'd like to see that building razed and something of a more classic New England style go up, that compliments Inn at Bay Point and Bootleggers.

Default Weeks Soda Shoppe

I remember when Weeks Soda Shop was in that building. It was a great hang out for the locals as well as the boaters from the dock. This was before George's Diner and the Town Docks.

Two years ago when I was unemployed, I approached the town to get a license to have a burrito and hot dog cart on the town docks. No food carts are allowed near the town docks and Hershey Park. Seems like the local restuarants will not allow a cart. Rusty Maclear?

If we can get enough pressure on the town, I can make it happen. Wolfeboro has one, Why can't Meredith??????

I also wondered why employees would not be able to go where they want at lunch! Now with your response.....I fully understand! Thanks!

Come on Burrito Me!!! Would love Burritos right there in Meredith. Every weekend on our way home...the same old question comes up...."where should we stop and grab something". Family loves burritos.

Default Another roundabout???

If I remember correctly, a couple of years ago there was a plan to put additional roundabouts in Meredith. I think the plan would have razed Zacky's/Aubuchons to make room for one. No thank you.

Thanks, that makes sense. I was thinking along the lines of more common employment, and so it sounded a little draconian (even if they WERE on the clock).

Don't remember it being Week's Soda Shop, but when I worked there in the 60's, it was Interlakes Dairy Bar, owned by the Titus'. A great diner and a good first job for a 15 year old waitress. It was always busy and Martha Titus made homemade pies and muffins. My favorites were the coconut cream pie and the date muffins. And the daily dinner specials were all good too. Back then, the folks who worked across the street at the asbestos mill would come over for dinner with asbestos in their hair and on their clothes. It was a real local place with a good summer ice cream business. Natt's wife

There was a sign on the door as was previously posted. See them in Epping it said.

Also a couple weeks prior I found this craigslist posting and googled the telephone number was listed as Zackey in Epping. Soooo.....drum roll please. LOL.

http://nh.craigslist.org/bfs/2349293078.html

Just read the CL ad again, said must be gone by the 15th. So they likely moved and the place is vacant now and the sign removed. Just a guess on the last part.

Kind of funny, last year, I personally witnessed them moving all their kitchen things from Epping here, and told he me they were closing that store and concentrating on Meredith.

Well, I hope they find some location that works

I'd like to say the writing was on the wall, but in this case, it was in the front window.
