Any licensed gas fitters around?
Trying to get a plumber to quote a small job to extend my propane piping about 12 total feet to where my wood stove used to be for our new propane fired “wood stove”
Like getting blood from a stone...most wont even call back. My “future” propane company that I am trying to get a 500 gallon tank installed with is coming to do a site survey on Oct 5. and they are going to “look” at the extension job as well. My rant is with all the other companies I’ve called that won’t return my call... |

I have used Anthony who is with Eastern Propane (formerly Wolfeboro Oil) for the 10 years I have owned a home in the area.
Among my projects was an extension of propane line from basement to under deck in backyard to gas grill. He's the best! Very professional, extremely knowledgable and neat on the jobsite. Call Eastern, select Service Dept and you can request Anthony by name. |

Why Is This Difficult?
Will the people who sold you the propane-fueled "wood stove" also
sell you a 12-foot extension? (Maybe install it for you?) |

Thus my dilemma with trying to find an independent gas fitter. My one hope is that the “new” propane company that i want to switch to, can do the extension. I won’t know until the do the site survey on the 5th of next month. |

A few years ago, www.squamlakeplumbing.com moved into what used to be the Ashland branch of the Northland Bank so they must be doing something right if they take over the bank building!

Finally have "tentative" appointment dates for everything from 3 different companies...plumbing, propane and stove...my wife and I did the underground gas pipe installation ourselves, adhering to the propane company's specs as we did not want to deal with an open trench until early December.
2 foot trench 22' long (dug by hand) 6" sand in bottom lay in 50' pipe and 14 ga tracer wire 6" more of sand lightly tamped/compacted clean fill to 6" below grade lay in caution tape backfill and compact done |

“Step #2” completed.
Plumber came and extended my propane piping to my new “propane woodstove” location this morning. Next step, stove company installs stove in 2 weeks. |

Assuming your not pulling a permit. Reason I ask is when I had my propane installed last year the LFD had to come out verify the dig and caution tape before we could fill. With that said, on completion they came out to verify the stove. A newbie was sent. Had the check list and I had to walk him thu it due to him not knowing what he was looking for. Frustrating a best

Unheard of?
Just wanted to comment about the plumbing and heating company that came out and installed my propane line extension to my "gas stove" location.
The initial quote for the job was $xxx.00 and had all parts and labor listed on the invoice (as you would expect). They required 50% down to book the job which I paid over the phone immediately. Job day came and they (two men) showed up on time and completed the job and I gave them a check for the 50% balance. I asked them to have the office email me a receipt and they left. The next day I called their office to inquire if they had gotten the message about the receipt from the workers and she said "as soon as they give me their paperwork for the day" she would email it to me. Okay perfect! An hour later the lady calls me back about the receipt and says "we have a little problem/situation I need to explain." My immediate thought was "oh oh...someone screwed up and it's going to cost me more $$" but just the opposite happened. She said "after going over the actual work order, we needed to lower your quote by $xx.00 so your check for the balance was to much." "Oh, I said!" Then she asked If I would issue another check for amended amount and she would shred the check I gave the guys. I made another check out for the new amount and drove to their office and handed it to her...the lower price was nearly $100.00 less! Made my day! I also wanted to mention that the 2 other companies that came out for giving a quote were many hundreds more than this company and the highest priced one didn't even offer a written quote...he simply said "this was a flat rate job" (whatever that means). The next highest gave a written quote but with no parts and labor listed, just the amount. Last edited by Hillcountry; 11-13-2020 at 06:08 PM. |

Another “step” completed this morning before the rains came!
Fire N Stone guys came out promptly at 8am and installed our new propane fired stove and associated venting. Very professional and clean (and wore masks the whole time). Last step is the dropping of a new 500 gallon tank this Thursday and making the connections to the house. It’s been a lot of preparation and lining up vendors but there’s now a light at the end of the tunnel...thank God the weather has cooperated to a degree...pun intended. |

..... what the low-down on the showroom store?
You are brave to be using Fire N Stone to do the installation.
Their unfinished and closed showroom www.firenstone.com on Rt 106 in Tilton looks like they ran out of money, or something, because it has sat there closed and unfinished inside, for something like 2-3 years. So, what's up with the unfinished Fire N Stone showroom store, there? They must get asked this question, like ten times per week, or something ...... so, how's that discombobulated Fire N Stone showroom, there, going, anyway? What's the latest?

Anyway, FLL, you wouldn’t buy anything from them or any other small business as long as Wally World has what you need... |

A semi-tractor trailer typically has a trailer that is 13'6" high, and gas lines are almost always routed underground, so's the big truck probably got backed into the overhead electric power lines and started a fire, or something. Sounds like a lawyer, tough case-maker job for that famous Rudy Giuliani! ...
Hey there, you tell Angelo that he should put up a big sign in the window there that says: WE'LL BE BACK - WE ARE UNDER LITIGATION !!! In the mean time, come visit our temporary store, around back the other side. .... Because right now, it looks like it is closed or out-of-business, or something? So, good luck to Angelo with the trucking company and the insurance company or companies, and whatever.
