Wolfeboro Scarecrow
The annual Wolfeboro Scarecrow Contest starts this weekend. You can get a map of where they are at the C of C in the railroad station. If they are as good as last year we should be in for a treat.

Really Cool Scarecrows!
I was in Wolfeboro on Sunday, and I noticed the scarecrows around town. They look soo cool, some of them. I especially liked the Spider-Man scarecrow. Probably the coolest part about it was how some of the individual businesses fit their scarecrows to what they did there. I also enjoyed seeing (I believe it was) Pedro (GO SOX!) and the guy fishing for the shoes in front of the shoe store. It's really great that a town can do this without worrying about vandalism and it's such a great annual event that the town must have so much fun doing. I know we stopped at every scarecrow we saw and read the saying or just enjoyed the creativity!

What's your favorite scarecrow?
I wanted to take a poll, but there are just so many great ones, about what your FAVORITE scarecrow (If you've been in Wolfeboro).
My favorite is either the Spider-Man or the guy fishing for shoes outside the shoe store along the water's edge! |

Come Look
Come look at them. Get the map at the C of C in the railroad station. They are all over town. You can see some if you come by boat. The post office, IGA and spiderman on the Avery building are among the best. If you drive you can see more. I haven’t done the whole tour yet but are planning on it. They will be up through next weekend.

scarecrows
Had a great time myself over there on Sunday. Lots of imagination going on over there in Wolfboro. Just remember, don't just look straight ahead, sometimes you have to look up also. (Spiderman)

when does it end?
Is the scarecrow festival still on this weekend? We didn't get over there last weekend and we'd really love to see them. http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/...g=0&forumid=3#

Scarecrows in Wolfeboro
I have been to Wolfeboro these last two weekends. It is reallly neat the way people have put up varies scarecrows. Every time I go I see yet another new one or one I didn't notice before. Has anyone seen the waterski one? I think that one is really neat. People have gotten very creative and I hope noone destroys them.

(once again, I ask) "WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?"
Quote:
Why? Preston Bechard, a student in the 3-year-old program at Wolfeboro Cooperative Nursery School stands next to the vandalized scarecrow he and his classmates worked so hard on. Preston and his classmates discovered the wrecked scarecrow Friday morning, Oct. 1, just before the judging. (from the Granite State News - Wolfeboro) |

Disappointing indeed
I was haapy to see them (scarecrows) and everyone enjoying them. And to have a town that everyone could be/feel part of the community as a participant or observer. Leave it to someone to ruin it and do to a children's no less!
