Default House Closing

Well today is the BIG day!! I am going to close on my new house in Wolfeboro in one hour. Incredible journey. For those of you who are thinking of moving here and living here full-time, I offer this advice:
  • Spend at least a month or more in the area you think you want to move to
  • Rent first if possible
  • Read the local paper and go to as many local events as you can
  • Get involved in community groups or activities you love
  • Talk to store owners and others you meet and let them know you are new (it's amazing how people will respond)
  • Listen to people
  • Put on your diplomat hat and be sensitive to local ways
  • Make an effort to talk to people who are not like you, you would be amazed at what you will learn
  • Make sure you feel like you can integrate into the area easily and LOVE what goes on (if you feel some things are lacking, you may not be happy)
  • If you are coming from the "rat race" (NJ,NY,MA) be ready to put down your sword and relax. People are generally a lot less stressed here and smiles are more common than frowns.
  • If you are a "gay, liberal, tree-hugger"...yes even you, will find friends, open minds and hearts.

Congrats Kate! Very wise words, always move in with your Heart, mind and spiritual being before your physical being.

Welcome to our little slice of heaven!

David Letterman on ... Getting along

“People say New Yorkers can't get along. Not true. I saw two New Yorkers, complete strangers, sharing a cab. One guy took the tires and the radio; the other guy took the engine.”

Default Welcome Cate!!

It was a pleasure meeting you. That is a beautiful house. You will enjoy life in Wolfeboro. When you get time...check out the Gary Wallace Estate Auctions held every Saturday in Ossipee. You can find some local treasures to decorate your new home. Frank

That's all very true and very important suggestions. When my wife and I moved up here we found the hardest thing to do was to study and investigate all the medical parts of once life. It is very important to read up and check as many as possible and ask a lot of questions to all the new friends that you meet. We have found that some of the people we made appointments with, we were not all that compatible so the search went on. Just my

Welcome, Cate. You have made your choice of where to live the right way. Have no doubt in my mind that you will love it here as much as Steve and I do.

Default Welcome!

Cate:

Your new move has given us a new reason to visit W-Boro!

What do you think of a sandwitch and a Tuckermans at Garwoods?

Dave and Deb.

That's awesome! Hope you enjoy every minute of it.

I can't wait until I close on a retirement house up there in the future that is all mine and not the families.

Do you have carpal tunnel now after signing all those forms? I've bought two houses and I dislike the closing process.
