Default Island Electrician

We are in Alton, on an island, and are looking for a reputable electrician to come out and remove the meter and line from our existing camp, so that we can re-side the camp. Meter is screwed directly into the siding and studs with low hanging overhead wiring outside.
Suggestions on electricians would be welcome.

Thank You

Don't know any electricians in Alton but you will end up replacing that meter socket and installing a mast as is required by current code. Will require a permit be pulled and new service line run by your electric provider. no more low hanging wires there is now a ground clearance requirement.

Thumbs up Greg Brooks Electric

We used Greg Brooks Electric when we had our entire cabin on Rattlesnake rewired. He and his crew did such a fantastic job we've had them back for additional work.

I'm bumping this thread because I just had a good experience with Gary Drake Electric to replace my ancient breaker box at our cabin on Welch. Gary sent out 2 guys (I provided transportation to Welch). Nice guys. Did a great job and were very helpful. All at a very fair price. I was very happy to finally get this done. I had called a few guys who were recommended on this forum and after the initial phone calls they disappeared off the radar. Gary was recommended by my tree guy Peter Parker (another good guy for island work). Just wanted to pass this along to help fellow islanders.
