Can anyone tell me about the procedure to join Bald Peak. What are the costs, the process, etc. Thanks.

Here's an address
Here is a link to their website. Not much information for the public, so i gave you the link to the directions page, which has their PO Box, phone, and an email address.
Very exclusive club, if you haven't already figured that out.

Thanks. I had looked at the web site and as you note, not much info for the public. Maybe there are some members out there who can chime in? |

I thought you had to prove your worth of at least a million. That could be just local hearsay, but heard it none the less. I do some work up there. Exclusive is an understatement.

Thanks for your input. A million isn't what it used to be. I wonder how long the waiting list is? How many members are there? Surely there must be a member on the board who can shed a little light on the subject. |

Not a member but I worked there for 5 years in the late 70's / early 80's. I caddied for Princess Grace if that gives you an idea of the clientel.
It is extremely exclusive. Like many exclusive establishments, I believe they do have a long waiting list and even getting on that requires recommendations from existing members. In the 70's, the initiation fee was enough to make most heads spin, and that amount would still make most heads spin now. |

I'm a member there and it's really no big deal. It's cheap compared to Massachusetts clubs (I think $65K initiation, $6K/yr dues). I don't believe there is a waiting list currently. It's really not snooty or exclusive. The only reason it is tough to get into is because you have to be sponsored for membership by a few current members so you have to already know people there.
The people are very nice but mostly from out of state so it's tough to get to know them. The club also does a lot for the community through volunteer work and donations to local charities. |
