I'd like to be there, but I expect it to be too crowded and too chaotic for me to enjoy it. Do you think he'll make a promise to read to the kids and then bail on them like his opponent?

Default Wonder how long this thread will last?

This thread should spiral out of control rather quickly. Wonder how long it lasts before it is removed or locked. I say it does not last the day.

If this thread is going to go off the rails I figured we should do it with a smile! If there is one thing the whole forum seems to agree with it is the greatness of Dogs!!

Dog Elected Mayor Of Cormorant, Minnesota — Again

Duke may be the most popular politician in America, winning re-election for a landmark third time in a landslide.

What’s his secret? Probably the fact that he’s a dog, and everyone loves dogs.

In a vote held over the weekend, the 9-year-old Great Pyrenees won his third consecutive term as mayor of Cormorant, Minnesota. Voters paid $1 each to cast ballots in the election, which was held during the annual “Cormorant Daze” festival.

“Everybody voted for Duke, except for one vote for his girlfriend, Lassie,” David Rick, Duke’s owner, told local ABC station WDAY.

As mayor, Duke appears on three highway billboards promoting the community.

While Duke’s role is somewhat unusual, he’s not the first animal to be elected to office in the U.S. Roadtrippers has a fascinating look at some of the nation’s non-human mayors, including two other dogs, a cat, a cow and a beer-drinking goat named Mayor Clay Henry III.

Can we also ask Hillary about the Clinton Foundation and her daughters 900k salary?

FYI: As Richard Pryor did in "Brewsters Millions" I wish we could vote for "NONE OF THE ABOVE"

Default Trump Rally

Just got word that my brother hooked me up with a ticket. The rally starts at 7:30, and gates open at 3:30. I'm hoping that I can get in.

I support Trump as the only viable alternative to Hillary but I won't be attending the event.

I'd rather yield my space to someone who is on the fence. They can see the man in person and make up their mind, hopefully to vote for him.

Default .....hey Melania, just look what I got up in Laconia!

I wonder if a public forum similar to this is safe to do in today's Russia......or, in Russia today, do citizens only make positive comments concerning Vladimir Putin, and keep their opposing comments quiet?

From 1917-1989 in the Soviet Union regime of Russia, one never had to go too far to find their local communist party, and everyone probably kept their opinions very quiet so the party would not come looking for you.
................

Here's a friendly suggestion for Donald: Suggest he stops at the Laconia Wal-Mart, very close to his Laconia Airport airplane landing spot while enroute to the Middle School and go get himself an exercise bicycle for working out on his plane. You know that just twenty minutes/day of pedaling a stationary bike would probably do him a lot of fitness good.

As you may have heard, yesterday, Dr. Oz on tv called the Donald "almost obese" because he weighs not 237-lbs as he claimed but actually 267-lbs, and not the 198-lbs as was previously reported by Donald. He is 6'2" tall, not the 6'3", and weighs 267-lbs (NY Times)? If true ...... that is way, way too much weight. A healthy weight for him is 210-lbs, and not 267-lbs....so he is about 57-lbs overweight.....which is a lot.......what a fat pig! .... and he is not just almost obese but is obese.

.....for just 98-dollars, the Laconia Wal-Mart has a small stationary exercise bicycle that could be used on the airplane while watching tv.

Thats a great idea FLL! After the election he can then star in 2 different reality shows with the same name: "The Biggest Loser". Or would that be "The Hugest Loser"?

That dog is way to old to be Mayor! A 9 year old Great Pyrenees has got to be 99 in dog years. Time for term limits.

This has really been a weird presidential campaign and it's going to take a lot of work for the next president to bring everyone back together, but I have confidence that she can do it.

Just like the current President promised he would! How is that working out for you?

Somehow it just doesn't feel like we are all that unified.

Pretty easy to explain why. Political Correctness has fractured the citizens of this country from being just plain Americans into some iteration of hyphenated American and once those groups are established then the process of pitting one against the other ensues. The political class love this and exploit it for all it's worth. After all it's a great way to buy support with other people's money.

I would add that each division has become an opportunity for some to declare "You're either FOR us or AGAINST us".

"You know, I never really think about this issue" has no place these days.

I just noticed that no one has resorted to name calling. Very unusual to have a political debate pop up without it going downhill quickly.
Speaks well for the the people on this forum.

The Trump rally was terrific. He was on point and focused. The crowd was enthusiastic; there was a lot of energy in the room.

Default .... nice hairdo Donald!

So, what's going on with the donald's hair ...... how did it look last night? ..... he seems to usually be wearing a hat, but mostly when outdoors? Was he wearing a hat inside the Laconia Middle School last night?

Anyone there at the Middle School get to muss up his hair like on late night tv?

'A hair surgeon explains what is going on with Trump's hair':
http://www.businessinsider.com/hair-...s-hair-2015-12 ....... (1,389,546 views, 1:29)

The donald .... has had something like two surgical hair transplant procedures ...... according to a hair transplant surgeon, as he sees it? Who knew ..... and I thought it was 100% totally natural ...... just like the color ...... who knew?

As Abraham Lincoln said back on September 2, 1858 ... 158-years ago: "He (Donald Trump) may fool all the people some of the time; he can even fool some of the people all the time, but he can't fool all the people all the time."

No matter what you think of this election cycle, Trump's 15 minutes of fame is almost up. The next couple months will be full of "interesting" stuff, but at the end of the day, he can go back to the most important thing in his life, collecting money. He is unelectable - both due to the electoral process and due to his own doing.
