Default Trees / Firewood

Does anyone cut hardwood trees down for the wood any more?? I have three medium to large hardwood trees that need to be cut on a lot of land next to my house. Nothing is in the way for these trees to come down and you can drive right up to them for cutting and loading.

In my younger days I would help my father cut trees for people he knew for free just for the wood. With the high price of good hardwood these days you would think this would still be happening but I don't see it...

Yeah I know all about liability, just seems crazy to pay someone to cut down something that has such value in itself....

Oh well, just ranting...

Dan

Have you tried putting an ad on Craig's List? I have seen some on there asking exactly what you are looking for. I am looking for a grapple load of firewood and look on Craig's List every few days.
