Default Trying to plan a wedding...

I am in the process of planning a wedding for this summer. We would like to have it any Saturday after August 30th but realize it might be difficult to reserve a location with such short notice. Does anyone have a suggestion for a "rustic" place in or around the Lakes Region that would be cheap?

We held a family reunion at Ames Farm.

Held in the great outdoors, on the grass.

You can set up tents etc. if you wish.

Nice location on south side of the lake, at Gilford/West Alton line.

Default try Waukewan Golf Club

They rent out their barn for functions for what I think are reasonable rates, it's rustic but dresses up for events, and you can bring in most anything from your own linens and some decorations to your own caterer and DJ, which can keep costs down. With liquor laws you have to use their bar/bartenders, but they are also reasonably priced and they give you options for cost containment.

Default Mount

You can have your wedding and reception on the Mount!
My Cousin was going to do that this year, but backed out only because it was a weekday wedding and not everyone would be able to get there before the Mount left the dock

I second Waukewan. It is a lovely spot for a wedding and they are very flexible about the rules. At this late date it might be tough to book, though.
Good luck!

How many people? How particular? I know the Windrifter Resort also has a barn they rent out. But for only around 120 people or so. Very rustic...you set up the place and clean up afterward....
Just a thought.

There was a thread not too long ago in which someone was asking about a caterer. There were lots of suggestions. You may want to check that out.

Default Wedding Catering

Well, last summer we catered a wedding at the Elacoya State Park - it was beautiful, they had the ceremony on the beach. I am not sure of the rental cost - they had a tent and provided their own wine and beer. For the food portion just under 100 people it was about $1,200. Let me know if you find a place where you need a caterer - Lauren Lyons - The Lyons' Den Restaurant & Tavern, Gilford, NH 603-293-8833

Wow...that is cheap......I'm surprized you could do chips and dips for $12 a head.Even for a cookout I'd think you'd be over $20.
