Arrow Lee’s Mill Steamboat Meet 2020 - Cancelled

I am sad to report that Dave Thorpe has let me know that the Lee’s Mill Steamboat Meet has been cancelled for this year.

Quote from Dave’s e-mail:

“We all hope to be back to a reasonable degree of “normal” next year. We played around with shortening the meet to 3 days to avoid the weekend crowds and little by little realized it just was not going to be much fun if we followed all the rules. Also the Town officials had reservations so we pulled the plug.“

Default Too bad

Too bad. We were hoping to be able to make the run to Lee's Mill. Always nice to see the steamboats on parade and hear the personalized steam whistling.

Quote from Dave’s e-mail. (I should have included this in my post. Oops. Will amend)

Bummer...always a big part of our September stay.

Hopefully it will be back next year.

Meanwhile, restaurants are all open for inside dining. You'd think Moultonborough would recognize that this outside activity was comparatively low-low risk.

So many of these steamboat owners that come to our incredible rally are from other areas in the country. I expect that played a part in the cancellation too. It is so sad they cannot do it this year, but let’s think positive... it will be back next year!!! This event is always such fun!!!
