Default Bear-ly got to bed...

We were rousted from our warm bed at midnight last night by some bumps in the night outside our door. Flashlight and revolver in hand, I went down to investigate and found our trash barrel tipped over and squashed on one side.
Bear visited and actually took the one bag of garbage and absconded into the rainy night. We never saw it but this morning when on our morning walk with the dog we found the crime scene...the bear had carried the bag thirty yards up the hill behind the house, just out of sight and had his way with our trash.
Surely, it was there as I was shining the flashlight around barefoot in the rain.
First time in 6 years this has happened but now we will keep trash out of sight in the garage! I’ll put out a game camera to see if we can catch the culprit...

Arrow There are Worse Things Than Barefoot and Wet in the Dark...

Better to have two wet feet under you, than four bear feet after you...

Well, according to Snopes, the picture posted by APS is a FAKE.

Assuming Snoples analysis to be true, I will refrain from commenting on whether the same problem permeates other items posted by APS.

I don't check those pics, especially since the video of a bear chasing a gal on a ski-board (in Japan) was also said to be a fake.

Not at all surprised, and Snopes picks "low-hanging fruit" to report on.

The above bear chase—but a video!

Arrow "Fake" Bear Chase Not Far Beyond Reality...

As long as the above "fake bear chase" characterizes a reality, who's to complain?

Like, where is Snopes on this intense Grizzly chase? (Although I do think it was rehearsed).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HixMIKyUqSM

Or Snopes on this account from Cycling magazine, a Grizzly chasing an "unaware" bicyclist?

“Finally he looked over at me and I said, ‘You’ve got a grizzly bear about 25 feet behind you.’ He looked back and went, ‘Oh!’ and started to pound on the pedals.”

'A good thing I like bears, as two of 'em were photographed this past Sunday (and one videotaped—having raced over to climb a tree) next to our driveway!

As I've been telling my neighbors, we have no witnesses to a bear browsing on Wolfeboro Neck since 1949. (But photographed in two concurrent years recently at Wolfeboro's Carry Beach, a mile away).
