Default Army Trucks: Visit/Movement

Hi All,
Two things: 1. Anyone know why there's so much military vehicle movement on the highways this last couple weeks? 2. My 7-year-old son is jazzed about seeing military vehicles: suggestions on how to fulfill this "need"?!

Thanks!

Many Reserve and National Guard units schedule their annual trainings during June. You are probably seeing convoys traveling to their AT destinations. Back in the day, we used to have to make the fun filled trip from Gilford to Ft. Drum, NY. What should have taken 7 hours took 18!

Traveling North on 93 today there was a convoy that had pulled into the Hooksett plaza, I guess for gas. The entry ramp into the plaza was backed up into the breakdown lane. I could see trucks at the pumps and as I passed there were more that had left and were back on the road. Had to be at least 30 trucks.

The Wright Museum in Wolfeboro Falls has some military vehicles. Short walk from town docks, even shorter if you can get under the bridge and tie up on the east side of Back Bay. www.wrightmuseum.org
Also, Merrimack Valley Military Vehicle Collectors: http://mvmvc.org/weare-rally/

I expect you could just call a local National Guard Armory and get a tour, same as touring a Police or Fire Station.
