Default Can we find her ..............

Can we find her
in a house?
Can we find her
with a mouse?

Would we find her
in a box?
Would we find her
with a fox?

Not in a box.
Not with a fox.
Not in a house.
Not with a mouse.
We can not find her here or there.
We can not find her anywhere.

Would she? Could she?
in a car?

She would not ,
could not,
in a car

You may find her.
You will see.
You may find her
in a tree?

She would not, could not in a tree.
Not in a car! You let her be.

We can not find her in a box.
We can not find her with a fox
We can not find her in a house
We can not find her with a mouse
We can not find her here or there.
We can not find her anywhere..

A train! A train!
A train! A train!
Could she, would she
on a train?

Not on a train! Not in a tree!
Not in a car! Please Let her be!
She would not, could not, in a box.
She could not, would not, with a fox.
We can not find her with a mouse
We can not find her in a house.
We can not find her here or there.
We can not find her anywhere.

Say!
In the dark?
Here in the dark!
Would she, could she, in the dark?

She would not, could not,
in the dark.

Would she, could she,
in the rain?

She would not, could not, in the rain.
Not in the dark. Not on a train,
Not in a car, Not in a tree.
We can not find her you can see.
Not in a house. Not in a box.
Not with a mouse. Not with a fox.
We can not find her here or there.
We can not find her anywhere!!!!

Default A very busy lady . . .

Island Girl . . . you have waaaaaay too much time on your hands!

Here's what I know . . . Pepper did, indeed, buy a house last fall. Since it is an older house (80-90 years), you know it needed lots of work just to bring it up to code. There was no kitchen and we won't mention the bathroom. So she has been very busy with the house. Plus, with Waldo's being closed for the season, she needed a job to pay the bills. She has been one VERY busy lady but I'm sure she'll reappear as soon as she can.

Can we expect to see Pepper this season with Norm, Rich and Tommy?

Pepper is still out there just lying low.

All of what QL said is true.... I and "She who must be obeyed" had a Pepper sighting today.... We have promised Pepper to keep it secret.... But she will be back soon! She is alive and well!!

It's really very cool.... You Go Pepper...

I hope she tells all of you what she has been up to lately... cause... you'll all be proud of her... and not the least bit surprised!!!

Claude Denson Pepper (September 8, 1900 – May 30, 1989) was an American politician of the Democratic Party, and a spokesman for liberalism and the elderly. He represented Florida in the United States Senate from 1936 until 1951, and in the United States House of Representatives from 1963 until 1989.

Pepper For President!

If we keep enough of these silly things going... maybe she will come back and defend herself!

Good one, QL! Maybe she went off to become a part-time Public Works employee driving a town sand truck so that she could become "Salt and Pepper".

Default Pepper's Plane Needs Nose Job !

Has anyone noticed the airplane on Pepper's place lately? When I drove by on Saturday, it looked like the nose/prop section had been torn off the front of plane. Maybe it has been like that for a while and I just never noticed it.

Default Pepper's Plane???

I thought all aircraft require "down" time for tuning and maintenance. How do you expect Pepper an Bruce to fly safely if their plane isn't kept up to standards? I sure wouldn't want to fly in it unless if has some periodic check ups. I think they mentioned that they were going to fly in to Forum Fest 4 this year.

Default Guess who ...

Hey everybody!!!!!

At long last, I have a day off, and a bit of time to actually pop in and catch up on all my friends here! Believe me when I tell you I have missed this forum, and all of you, very very much over the past few months!!! It'll take me a few hours to read all the posts and get caught up on all the fun!

Meanwhile, wanna know what I've been up to? Here goes ...

In a house, oh yes indeed
Destroyed and rebuilt with great speed
No bath, no kitchen, hole in roof
No magic wand to make the mess go poof

Walls a'crumblin', pipes that leak
only the brave dared take a peek
Drywall and spackle, paint and stain
Make this old house grand again

Six weeks time from ugh to wow
Please, oh please, can we move in now
Now go get Grandma and all of her things
She's moving in to an adjacent wing

All the supplies that cured these woes
Came from a wonderful place called Lowes
The staff there treated us mighty fine
A few weeks later I saw a small sign

Lowe's Hiring Office the little sign read
A job for me, my mind then said
Just for the winter, oh no indeed not
A career-changing job is what I've got

We're getting older, with no safety net
Indeed it was time to go out and get
A job with security, health insurance and
a 401K and stock purchase plan

What about Waldo's you will now bellow
Fear not my friends, please remain mellow
Waldo will be there, Gail will too
They will continue to take care of you

All of the staff you've come to know
Will still be there whenever you go
I'll be there too as much as I'm able
Someone's gotta be there to chat at the tables

Meanwhile you'll find me at the Gilford Lowe's
It's my job to make sure the Delivery Truck goes
Appliances, flooring, hot tubs and lumber
Until it's at your house I cannot slumber

So come in and visit, see what we've built there
Five weeks of hard work by employees that care
Sun-up to sundown, working as a team
Now it's a store with aisles that gleam

I'm exhausted and happy and really quite proud
I love the challenge, and could shout out loud
It was especially nice to surprise lots of you
As you were shopping and ran into "you know who"

I'm sorry you all were kept in the dark
This certainly wasn't a walk in the park
Since the 8th of October I've had little rest
But I've lots to show for it, with some help from the best

Friends a girl could ever ask for
Who came with paintbrushes, mugs and more
When the house was finished a new challenge began
And a busy little Pepper was on the move again

The long days are over and now I'll have time
To come and hang out with all my friends online
Thanks for the kind words, the emails and more
They were greatly appreciated, for sure, for sure!

Default Best Wishes

Pepper,

I am sure this was not an easy decision, but one that had to be made. Lowe's has built a wonderful store in Gilford, the best Lowe's I have seen. It is important that they hire great people to make the investment pay-off. It appears they know a great person when they interview one!

Although your firendly smile will be missed whenever I or 'anyone and everyone' visits Waldo-Peppers, I am sure it is in good hands, and I will continue to be a huge Waldo-Peppers supporter and a frequent customer.

Good luck with your new adventure. You are the kind of person that will do very well in any work environment. I believe you are doing what you have to do. Retirement takes a lot of planning and many years of excution to make it worthwhile.

Best wishes,

R2B

PEPPER!
So nice to hear from you!...and what a poem!...you may have yet another career as a Poettess (Poetry lady?) (..and Quilt Lady's effort weren't too shabby neither!!)
I bet your new digs look great and one can always be more proud of the place if they did it themselves! Lowe's has an employee they can be proud of! Just started a new job myself and the learning curve can be HUGE...all those new names and new procedures...how to remember it all? You'll be great!

Sounds like you missed your annual cruise to the warm tropics?

You go girl!! BIG HUGS! McD

Pepper:

Welcome back. I must agree with McDude, your creative skills are amazing. I couldn't have put together a poem like that even if I had a month by myself to do nothing but work on it. People like you make the economy hum. I couldn't help but think of another thread that we have had going here recently about how tough it is to make ends meet in the Lakes Region. You certainly show how it is done by being an entrepeneur, taking a second job and then creating sweat equity in a property in your off hours all while you are doing nice things in the community. You should be a teacher, you certainly set a great example. Good Luck!

Default ...Pepper sent us!

Yes, it quite clear to everyone now why the new Lowe's-Gilford is such a happening store. Hey Pepper, is there any chance of like a 15% extra discount happening for local-yokels who buy on tuesdays between 2:45 and 3:00, or something, and mention your name......'Pepper sent us, yes?'

Also, if last week's mini free-food opening event was just a warm-up, then when is the real-deal....the main event..... the Lowe's-Gilford grand opening with the cheese burgers, hotdogs and chili dogs?

Congrats Pepper!!

She's finally back
after working real hard
painting the house
and fixing the yard

That girl's been missed
it's been a while
We missed her wit
and that lovely smile

I went to Waldos
and she was not there
It made me pause
and gave me a scare

Who would have thought
when I needed a plug
that I go to Lowes
And recieved a hug!

We all miss you!

Default Smiling and Laughing ...

Can you all see me smiling, and hear me laughing? It really is nice to have time to be here with all of you great people again! The messages above, as well as the numerous emails and PM's have made me truly realize what a wonderful group of friends I have here! You people are just the best!!!

Now, to answer a few of the questions, etc.

Our soft opening was indeed on 1/20 - and right on schedule. The small "catered event" mentioned above was "Family Night" for the families of all the employees, as well as some special invitations which were extended to folks like the Fire Department, Police Department and other local service agencies. It was the night before the official opening to the public.

FLL & Mac -Our "Grand Opening" is scheduled for February 8th, and toward the end of the week you should start seeing and hearing advertisements for it.

Mac - Do we deliver to Alton Bay? But of course we do! We can deliver anywhere in a 70 mile as-the-crow-flies radius, and I can also make accomodations to deliver further than that if the need arose.

FLL - wish I could help you with the "Pepper Discount" but that one's way beyond my authority. I will, however, send you an email if I see any of those pumps you were eyeing go on clearance!

McD - Indeed it's amazing how many new procedures and policies I'm learning, and how many names are spinning around in my head! I'm absolutely loving it, though, and the rest of the staff think I'm insane because I'm smiling all the time!

R2B - It was gut-wrenching to say the least, but nonetheless a decision I had to make. So glad you and so many others understand the necessity.

SecondCurve - you made me blush! Thank you.

SteveA - LOL!!!!! Did you come up with that yourself? Or did "she who must be obeyed" help out with that?

LIFR - get that list together and let's get your spring projects started!

RR - I'm allergic to shellfish, but I did take a break and have a huge bowl of ice cream!

IG - Hoping in a BIG WAY to see you and DRH and QL while you're visiting! Perhaps we can all do lunch?????

Mac - tell Mee "Thanks" and tell her I missed her too! Bet she's keeping all snuggly recently!

TR4 - nice to see you again, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where ya been?

Lin - It's amazing, baby! I'm sure I'll be seeing you over the warmer months. Give your Mom a hug for me, wouldya? What the heck - give one to the whole family for me!

SS - last but not least, Waldo says to tell you that if you come by looking for a hug, he'll be happy to give you one - just as long as you sit and have another awesome chat with him!

Hi Pepper

It's great to see you back in touch; we all missed you a great deal. Best of luck in your new career!

We'll just have to figure out your schedule so we know when to visit WP's to get our hugs (and if we're off schedule with you, well, the food's worth a visit all by itself and it will just give us an excuse to drop in again to try to catch you!)

Default Pit Crew?

Pepper,

Will you be going to Daytona to crew Jimmy Johnson and the Lowes Number 48? I can see it now wrenches spinning, gas cans flying over the wall..... If you see a guy from Joisey in the store this summer it will most likely be my dad. Those types of stores are like a magnet to him....

Best of luck in Home Center Career.....

Talking Welcome Back Pepper

Well Pepper,

You found your way back from the great abyss of "house reconstruction."

I am still trying to find my way out of the crevass. Just finished all the closet doors and now onto the the trim. I hope to be done by BOATING time. So I feel your pain in the house reconstruction area.

Gad to hear you are well and now have time to visit the forum.

I am out of one ToW. Now on to another.

Talking Pepper is as Busy as Ever

I saw Pepper today and she is looking great. Great Hair! as it has grown all back. She is still as busy as she was at Waldo Pepper's but at Lowes now. She works really hard to do her job well. I wish her luck in her new job.

Here's another reason to go to Lowe's and not the Home Depot. Lowe's has teamed up with the Discover Card and is giving 5% discounts from April 1 to June 30 or so. Got to sign up though even if you already have a Discover.
