I was counting on some non rainy Saturday time to undo the shrinkwrap, polish the deck, do some cockpit and cabin cleaning. Following weekend polishing and finish up. Have to install a light or two, and scope out the stereo fir sizing. One of these days, I might actually put it in the water

OCD, I agree those bothersome tasks that disturb peace and tranquil boating time can really ruin a week. Well I better finish my list it's Friday. yipee back to the lake.

Windy today!! Got out for about 2 hours today with the admiral. Headed down Alton Bay and over to Wolfeboro and then headed back.

Our boat does not have much room to clear the bridge in Alton, especially with the chop coming from the bay

I've got a some serious boat envy of the guy with the big center console Fountain with triple outboards that passed us leaving Alton Bay. Not sure if it's the best lake boat, but would be perfect on the coast.

What a great weekend for all of you lucky enough to be on the water!!!

I luckily got those "other" tasks accomplished... You know yard work, painting, washing etc etc... So now I can concentrate on more important items................Like washing, waxing, polishing, prop testing etc etc

I will be up this coming Friday and the weather is looking spectacular!!!

Any good plans? who's going to be around?

Planning to be up Friday evening hopefully by about 7.... And assuming the weather is good on Saturday, Jess the boys and I will probably spend most of the day wondering around the lake.

Now this assumes that nothing in the way of wedding plans suddenly changes and we have to change directions suddenly...

Thanks!... This is open for anyone.. Hope to see you soon as well...

I personally have met some GREAT friends on here just through threads like this one. It is a great way to give people options to meet up with forum members.

We spend so much time conversing it is great to finally put the name with the face.

The power of winni.com!

I agree 100%, if communicating with one or two people PMs are the way to go.

But I believe the intention of posting meeting spots is not to Exclude anyone, but to Include anyone that wants to join in and meet each other.

I understand that some people on this form would rather have a Root Canal than meet a Go Fast Boater in Person..., however we are actually quite a pleasant group of folks..!!!

Just because we may have a difference of opinion on one issue, I would still shake your hand and out on the lake I would do anything I could to help you out in a time of need.

Default No splash

Looks like this weekend is out. I have a broken rear shackle that won't be fixed til next week.

Autoserve in Tilton quoted over $400 to fix. Marino in Concord will do it for $300. What a difference among dealers.

I got a quote from Donovan Springs in Londonderry for $360.

I think I am heading out to find me a pair of this flip flop like APS.....

One always needs a bottle opener when out on the water for a day....

For the Root Beer and Bottled Soda of course, that I pick up at the Country Store..... Sorry no Alcohol on my boat.....

those flip flops are cool. I am deathly afraid that when the soles wear down or if you step on an edge of the boat though you could scratch the gel coat. I don't allow glass in the boat anyway but they would be cool for dock shoes.

I have seen baseball caps (with a Guiness logo) with a bottle opener "built-in" to the visor.

Available at Kohl's

Do a google search on baseball cap bottle openner.... I found several sites... one was even by a manufacturer. However I didn't see one that was blank... But I am sure the Manufacturer could help you, or if you look long enough some retailer will have blank copies.

Unhappy Always something!

Was at the Naz yesterday.... If you didn't see the boat well, thats because it never made it to the water... Finished waxing on Friday. Got the GPS running, new compass installed.... Everything was going perfectly for a weekend of burning as much gas as I could......... Well I start her up on the hose to warm the engine and do an oil change... Then I hear it! A rattle coming from the top of the drive.. Consensus is U joint but not 100% sure... She is off to a HP Drive Pro in Mass today... UGGH it is always something.

Luckily a good friend picked us up in his rebuilt ckmate and we got to spend some time on the water and lunch at the Naz around 2 PM. So sorry if you were there and I wasn't...

Oh, OC, I feel sorry for you. It seems you have had one problem after another with that boat! How discouraging! And you love it so much.

But back on topic, we didn't get out on the lake yesterday, but the day before was just perfect. The broads were like a mirror and the temp was pretty nice too! Thurs. we went out and it was fairly rough. Looking forward to a nice long ride today.

OCD, Sorry to here about the drive man. With some luck the guy in Mass, will have you going next week. We all know the feeling of being extremely ready to be out on the water only to have something go wrong... Mine was the water pump going as I headed away from the dock two years ago fourth of July weekend.

Anyways, on to better topic, it was a wonderful weekend. I saw many boats on the water. Took the normal ride to Center harbor for Breakfast, and had a great conversation with a couple that had just splashed there boat for a day on the big lake. We talked about several things but the one that still stick out is the lack of really good public launching facilities.

After that it was a few small trips in the boat Sat afternoon, and Sunday. Topped off with lunch on the boat in Braun Bay. We floated in the middle of the bay as there wasn't much traffic the boys jumped in the water a couple of times each, and we even played with the little remote controlled boat. (I think the big kid had the most fun with that).... Anyways, summer is here, it is hopefully only going to get better.

Now if I can just get over the fact that for the first time in 20 something years I will not be at the lake for Memorial day.... Of course I am doing something very special and important.... Wedding Bells.... Tonight as I type this I spend my last night as a single man at the lake....

Thanks. I hope so as well.... What time were you there? I didn't get there until about 2pm. I had meant to post that I would be late but was working on the boat. We had a few other items to try but they were "hopefull thinking" greasing the gimbal bearing, lowering the drive in the water etc. but nothing worked... So I am waiting anxiously all day today hoping to hear good news.

Talking Finally Some Luck for OCD!

WOW..........For once things go my way..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bad flappers on the inside of my exhaust... Which means NOT A PROBLEM at all!!!! Finally some luck!

Thanks again to my buddy... He towed it 3 hours then 1 hour home and another 2 hours today. But better to be safe then sorry.

Now I just have to figure out how to get the Gibson Clamp on Mufflers off the existing tips so I can replace them.

I had to bang them on with a 2x4 perpendicular to the ends then hit it with a sledgehammer per Gibson's suggestion.

Any thoughts??

Either way nothing wrong with her. I will be out there on Thursday!

My suggestion would be if possible get the tip and exhaust assembly off the boat which has to happen anyways. Then assuming the exhaust goes over the tip collapse the tip inside the exhaust. Of course I have many ideas on how to do that, but the bottom line is I need to see the assembly in person to know how to do it and cause the least amount of damage to the mufflers...

Glad to here there wasn't an issue with the drive.....

Mine used to make a clicking noise from the flappers. After I ran it a few times with the new exhaust the rubber got hot enough and expanded. now it doesn't click

I was just told to knock them out completely and install flappers on my tips..

Problem is I have Gibson Clamp on Mufflers with a 6 inch diameter exit hole. I can't find 6" flappers anywhere. Any thoughts?

Cool.... Maybe see you this weekend?

** For everyone **

Saturday most likely head to the Naswa for lunch and crusie around.

Sunday I am think I will be picking up friends over on Timber Island and will be around.

So if anyone is around and wants to meet up let me know.

This is all weather permitting of course.

An inflatable lounge chair with 2 electric motors w/joysticks to control travel. Had two of them 4 years and love them. I'll give you a wave and a holler Sunday, looks like great weather.

Wow.. That is sweet!!! I will know what to look for!

Well after a few issues yesterday that I fixed, she is in the water and lets just say the new labbed prop does its job!

Out today with the family. Surprisingly this is only the second ride my wife has ever been on in the boat and the first time ever that it is just the family.

Really really looking forward to it.. Been a dream that has been long time waiting and about to come true! See you out there.

Default Last Nice Boating Day in May

Well didn't we all have a GREAT boating month. I think we had better weather this month then we did all last year!!! Great day on the lake today. Thanks to Hazelnut for helping me move a friend and thanks to Robmac for allowing me to tie up with him in Braun Bay. Great to finally put the name with the face and to meet your terrific family and friends! Still can't believe you were in that water. Way too cold for me! But much appreciated.

I put on a little over 8 hours so far onto her this weekend and burnt an entire tank of gas (100 gallons) and still have tomorrow to go.

Thanks to all that waved out there. It is amazing how many people I have met on here or walk up to say they know me from winni.com. Makes the lake an even better place to be.

Will post some pics later on.
