...Meredith climbing wall
From the December 18 Laconia Daily Sun...
Drop in at Meredith climbing wall MEREDITH - Drop-in climbers are welcome to try the climbing wall at Meredith Community Center on Friday, Dec 22, and Friday, Dec 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. The fee to try the 24-foot-high rock wall is $1 per person. All age groups are invited; children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent. ................................................. Hey, now doesn't that sound like a challenging way to spend a Friday night and great practice for going ice climbing at the Frankenstein Cliff up in Crawford Notch, or some crazy thing. Plus, it's a whole lot warmer, too. Even if you only want to be able to ski down Timmy's Trauma at Attitash, an indoor climbing wall can help to keep your skills in tone. I never knew Meredith had an indoor 24' high climbing wall. Meredith has really been doing some changes in the last few years... a no-wake zone on the Bay, a strong rowing crew club with eight-fours-and double shells, a youth sailing program, all these white adirondack style hotels, a shore-line walking path, a new police station, and a new community center. So, what's next? Any sign about the talked-about redone Town Docks parking lot area so it will be similar to the surrounding hotels and Hesky Park. It's definately more bang for your tax bucks, or something. Meredith is a terrific place if you can afford the property taxes. And if not, hey the 24' climbinhg is only one dollar......what-a-deal! |
