Boat & Mooring Registration PSA...
....thought I would pass on this Public Service Announcement:
In prior years, I have gone to Marine Patrol HQ in Gilford this time of year to register the boat and get my mooring decal in one-stop shopping. Went there today to do that for this season, and found the doors locked with a notice that there is no person-to-person service this year. There is a lock-box outside for application drop-offs that is checked during the day, Mon-Fri. Apparently you drop your paperwork in the lockbox along with all your contact info, but NOT your credit card info...they will call you and you give that to them over the phone. I believe that they then mail you the reg and decals. I didn't read the notice in great depth, as I decided to go with Plan B and just drive over to my marina and have them give me the boat reg. I still have to do the mooring decal by mail. Bottom line is don't go to MP HQ expecting to get your decals in person as in prior years. |

Same
That’s how it was last year also. I dropped mine in the box with a check and had my registration in the mail in less than a week. Smooth process!

I know I was able to do mine in person last year...maybe I snuck in before they changed it due to 'rona, or perhaps the lockbox was an option that I didn't notice at the time. Anyway, here's to a quick melt with the warm temps this weekend and next week!

I dropped off mine there with a check for each into the lock box, and they were back to me in less than a week and no extra fee. and Was emailed with updates that they were received and processed and advised when going back in the mail

I guess they changed their mind? I walked in & got my mooring decal last week- looked like business as usual.
