Water Rescue Paugus Bay
Calls came in shortly before 5 p.m. to report someone jumped off a boat near the Margate Resort in Paugus Bay and did not resurface. Laconia Fire Department as well as other local departments responded to the call.
That is all the information in the Laconia Sun. https://www.laconiadailysun.com/news...c3a5b774d.html |

A brief update but still not much news. Two different rescue calls at the same time.
The call was for a swimmer who went under the water and failed to resurface in Paugus Bay near the Marage Reort. As of 6 p.m., rescuers were still searching for the man, described to be in his 40s. New Hampshire Fish & Game joined the search near the Margate around 6:30 p.m. https://www.laconiadailysun.com/news...83b54cccb.html |

Search resumes
The search for the missing swimmer resumes at 7 AM today.
It would be a good day for boaters to stay clear of the Margate sandbar area to minimize wakes and interference in the effort. |

Yes..... he lived in Meredith, but his family has property in the Weirs. He and his family are very well known in the Weirs Beach community.

Some totally fascinating info on drownings from the Center for Disease Control: https://www.cdc.gov/drowning/facts/index.html
A 30" x 2" diameter foam swimmer's noodle tied tightly around the waist with a line threaded down the center hole is an extremely effective "pfd in a belt" plus it is an excellent swim training aid for swimming in 65-degree cold water, deep water, or rough water. It has enough flotation to provide a slight positive buoyancy for a 200-lb male. Spend about $25 for a wet suit tee shirt, or wet suit farmer john shorty, and you are good to go swimming in water temps down to about 60-degrees. And, as a general rule for boating ...... http://www.army.mil/article/223974/a...water_dont_mix

The deadliest great lake ...... https://glsrp.org ..... scroll down a wee bit and click on ten minute drowning in Lake Michigan video
